John Morris- Last season at Parra?

I know Uptheels thinks that this might be his last year with us and so do I. Moriss natural posy is Hooker yet we went out and bough 2 more players in Pig and PJ. And with the amount of Jnr Halfs we have coming through I don't think Moriss will be retained after this year. Whats he on 200k?? I can see the writing on the wall for him. He has been a good player for us but not a great one and I thought he could always do better for e.g. with his running from dummy half was sometimes non- existant.

Thats the only reason why I think this will be his last season. Also because of Mateo and Perenara. Theres a few reasons but it hasnt been the best stay for Johnny. He is a utility which means he aint that good at any singular position but in the halves is where he shines I think.

I think this was always going to be his last season, he expressed interest in going back to Newie just after he signed the contract.

I get this feeling this one be missed as much as the others. ;-)

If he doesn't resign thats an extra 200k up or sleeves that we can keep our up and comers on.

200k for Moriss
250k Vella
150K Wagon

600K we can spend at the end of this season.

Yeah....Johnny originally said when he signed from the Knights that he would be back there. I think we were viewed as the team he could establish himself in and then return to where he has always wanted to be. The Knights couldn't match what we offered, or provide the guarantee of a starting position.

I'm not bagging the bloke...i reckon he has always put in and tried his best while he has been here, but i never thought he would resign. I also think Brian Smith knew this as well, therefore when Riddell came on the market he chased him as a replacement. A bit of forward thinking.....

See I must say I disagree.

I never saw Morris as more than an oridnary hooker. His passing and kicking game was wasted at dummy half.

I think he will be our number one 5/8. He's young still, and he's class.

He had an awful lot of brain explosions this year causing quite a few penalties but otherwise there is potential for him!! I think we need to see how he performs next year (hopefully in five eighth)

As a hooker Ive never liked him becuase of them Brain Explosions. To many penalties and really hasnt got a big build which I like to see in hookers such as Riddell. 5/8 is his position and one Id like to see him hold for a while.

I don't know about Brain Explosions or too many penalties but for me he just did not offer anything than an average Hooker.

I usually have a good eye for these things and he didn't stand out with his Brain Explosions.

They definately stood out. When he was in the ruck most hookers clear out but he deliberately hung around trying to slow down the play the ball which was to obvious. I wish we had Kidwell he does it so well and barely gets penalised.

Anotjer thing about Morris he gives the ball to the forwards at the wrong time IMO. As soon as they get the ball they are either dominated or unable to get past teh advantage line.

Mods....I'm not sure but from my point of view Phillips would love a "tongue in cheek" emoticon......

Probably missed most them as I had too wipe the tears out of my eyes after Burt would mis tackle after tackle.

Sad but true. I was looking at the stats in League Week:Year in Review. I think it was 78% of tackles were effective. Most players we around high 80's.
