If for some reason John Morris will not be re-signed by the club, then maybe he should be signed by the Tigers ;-)

Nah, actually we are in more need of a stronger forward pack.

They definately stood out. When he was in the ruck most hookers clear out but he deliberately hung around trying to slow down the play the ball which was to obvious. I wish we had Kidwell he does it so well and barely gets penalised.

Anotjer thing about Morris he gives the ball to the forwards at the wrong time IMO. As soon as they get the ball they are either dominated or unable to get past teh advantage line.

uummmm....we had Kidwell

but that was before a certain Brian Smith called him into his office and told him "he didn't have what it takes and wasn't what Parra wanted"

and Kidwell said that himslef in a media article......and sure at the time he wasn't going so well in the centres, but he was always a backrower with potential......but potential at Parra doesn't mean much unless you set the world on fire inyour first 3 matches??????

Sorry to put it bluntly, but geez u spin some shit mate.....u claim u r just objective and don't BS bash, but thats bullshit - every second post is having a shot at BS.

Kidwell was average at best....why the hell did he go to the UK to play if everyone thought he had so much "potential"?.....fact is he wasn't up to being a 1st grade player back then and we had better options across the park......but no - lets turn it into a BS bitch session once again

kidwell was nothing special when we had him at all, barely held a bench spot. no one cared when he left, its only cause of his hard work during then that its paid off for him.

He was good during his first year though, just crumbled after that. had the worse hands in the club.

Back then Kidwell wasnt half the player he is now. I was merely using him as an example. Not bait for someone to have a crack at Smith.

it wasn't about bait for an attack on Smith, you  ......nevermind.....its just you used an example of a player and i used another examlpe involving the same player....

and as i said, Kidwell was always a potentially very good backrower (which is what he is now) being played in the centres

and he is another to have what Smithy doesn't have....a premiership ring, so much for not having what it takes hey????

read what i have said in two posts regarding this strider and then check on where Kidwell plays now, for the Roosters (previously), Melbourne and now NZ.......the backrow.....he was never quicke enough (or had good enough hands) to play in the centres....??????????????

and i do BS bash, but at least have the examples to back it up, i only do it where i see fit and try to do it constructively and as i have said on numerous occasions, if he turns the club around i will admit i was wrong and congratulate him.....but until such time.............

if kidwell was so good back then TE and had so much potential, why did no other NRL club want a bar of him?

Barnes already left then. Kidwell was on the bench in reserve grade, and we made the final four of the comp with Kidwell rotting in reserve grade.....some bloke called Jamie Lyon came through.

Are u kidding rating Kidwell. He is nothing but an angry ant trying to make out he is so tough. He has bad hands and a bad attitude. The guy is crap - fair dinkum if you wanted to keep him then you are not hard to please.

not in 1998 or 1999, Jamie Lyon didn't come through....he started at the club in 1999

and i'm arguing that this was again proof that BS gives up on players too early IMHO and Kidwell is good enough to star for the kiwi's currently isn't he and in the Anzac test where he was their best player???

Would you be happy to wait three or four years for a player to develop?

It happened. Move on.....

why not Colonel.......

Jamie took at least 2 years to be really to the level that everyone adored him for, granted he was very young to start

Anthony Minicello took about 3 years to develop to a high level, as did Brett Hodgson and plenty of others......3-4 years is not an age and certainly not out of the question.....and i simply used Kidwell as an example

believe me, i have more than moved on, its just illustrating my arguement with some of BS's tactics......and should we just let such developments continue to happen and just simply continue to move on???????

very easy to say............

Yes - and they were players much younger than Kidwell. Kidwell had a great first season and then his second was all downhill. He himself in the article you refer to said he didn't work out what he wanted from football until he ended up in England playing first division football.

If Smith had of kept him he would have been slammed for hindering the development of younger players.....
