The Newcastle Knights will be making an announcement at 4pm this afternoon regarding Andrew Johns. No word on what it's about but Sportstab have suspended all betting on the Knights.

I think he is gone for 2003.

Season over for Johns!

Australian and Newcastle Knights captain Andrew Johns has been ruled out for the rest of the season, including the Kangaroo tour, with a neck injury.

The injury occurred earlier in the year, but was made worse during the Knights' recent match against Manly in Newcastle.

Johns played the following week against the Cowboys in Townsville, but the injury has not responded well to treatment.

Johns received medical advice, advising him to miss football for the rest of the year, including the end of season Kangaroo tour.

The news comes as a body blow to the Newcastle Knights, who are fighting to remain in contention for the end of season play-offs.
