I understand they spoke to Maloney, so I guess they're looking.
Probably want to concentrate on forwards though.

Maloney isn't thats silly.
Even though Knights are also scouting him, he could still do his tv stuff.
Need forwards asap, but we could get the Australian front and back row and turn them into unfit, lazy, unmotivated shells of their former selves in 1-2 seasons.

The Foran thing has been a failure, and no amount of dressing up from management can hide that fact. He started well, then his body started failing him like it has for some years. He's had zero impact in the last month or so. I'll be generous and say it might be his body still not being near 100% rather than having one eye on Sydney...but I'm not convinced he's busting his arse out there for a club that declared itself a halfway house rather than a professional sporting club for him.

It's certainly held Hingano back, from all reports I hear from Intrust and the limited stuff in FG he's certainly not further advanced than he was 12 months ago.

I doubt it'd happen but if I had my way, once we were mathematically out of playoff contention, Foran can hop on the first plane to Sydney to be with his family. No way do I want him inhabiting a jersey he just hasn't filled anywhere near what we hoped.

I mean, its not inconceivable to say for a guy whose made a career out of pace and changing direction, that an ACL could mean his best days are behind him. I've been almost sycopantic in my praise for him over the years but I saw how milky he came back from the broken leg and this doesn't bode well. I hope I'm wrong. It's just that his game is based around his footwork, he's not a director and can't expect to come back and play that role with less pace and swerve.

You're dead right unfortunately, he lost a big yard of pace after that broken leg and it looks like we're never going to see it again.

It's a real pity, but he did manage to add other dimensions to his game this year.

Should SJ be moved to centre or fullback and we use a combination of RTS/Lino/Ata in the halves?

Always thought fullback would be an interesting move for him, only downsides being that he isn't fond of any contact at all so under a bomb with 3 guys coming to smash him might not be his go, along with kick returns and defence at the back when he is 1 on 1

Centre would be a no go, hardest spot on the field to defend and guys like Hurrell and Leilua would destroy him

He's fine the halves. Johnson needs a strong partner to assist with the load but he's been dumped with an inexperienced Townsend, a useless Leuluai and a busted Foran.

so, as long as he doesn't have to catch the ball, return it from a kick or defend one on one, he will make a good fullback?

If i was sj i would seriously considered retirement.....he has proven himself. he is one of the most gifted players we have had....the constant bagging by members of the public , media and people on this forum would surely have some impact.
great player, benji mark 2......however there is another one playing touch or tag somewhere close by....just find and develop.....

Well he's 26 now so yeah definitely. He's done enough to earn him a 4 minute youtube highlights reel so he's achieved so much. He should definitely...um...retire.

Lol yep, if he can catch the pill with no pressure and pass it off to Maumolo and chime in when he sees space, he'd be great ;)

Johnson only out for 6-8 weeks, no surgery needed.

Great news for NZ and the World Cup.

Great news for the Warriors for next year as well with not missing pre-season.

The real question is what the Warriors do for their remaining rounds of the season. Lino or Hingano?

This from the same guy who reckons the club should fold or pull out of the comp for a couple of years... quitting doesn't win you anything champ.
