It's about optimizing players and rosters. I'm pretty sure we all knew Wright had little to no potential over the likes of Sio and Loko, so what was our club doing wasting a year and a quarter on the likes of Wright as our back-up? Surely, as a club, the staff and coach aren't so stupid as to know what's potential and what isn't? Fair enough we let him go because he's crap, but why did it take that long to realise he was. I value efficiency, therefore, from my perspective, we should have seen from Wrights few performances late last year that he wasn't enough and thrown in another bloke and see how he went.

Maybe they should give the job to you. You make retention, acquisition and management of the cap sound so easy.

I'm still very dissapointed about this...

I think Jono is grossly underated and should of been there infront of INU for most of the year.

Stagger, you should have been in fornt of Inu this season, could have been a bit of bother under the high ball, but you could have made more metres and would have played with some passion.

Good luck Jono! I hope you go well at the Doggies, just not against Parra.

It's a shame, but i don't think he will ever be an Inglis or even a Tahu. I think he is one of those players that need to be picked and just left in the side to get used to the speed and what is needed to be a quality 1st grade footballer.

Should he have been picked in front of Inu? IMO, probably, as Inu looked lost and uninterested to me. They say form is temporary but class is forever, not in Inu's case i don't think.

So let me get this straight.

Jono was hammered from pillar to post on here during the season, and now we're moaning he is gone?

Not too bothered by losing Jono.

Good upcoming player but should be cementing a first grade spot elsewhere.

We are pretty much ok with centres as Benny could fill in there if need be plus giving some other youngster a crack.

Would players in the team who were mates with Inu object to this happening? seemed pretty obvious to drop a player who did not seem interested and was slower than many forwards.

He obviously had as many fans as critics. Your point is what ?

Sure gimme the gig for the retention and acquisition of the players, dumb as I am even my ass could do a better job. I don't know how you related my post to caps, I was criticizing the wrong selection of players to elevate to first grade, Wright leaving after poor performances despite getting the gig over other players is proof of that.

Were Loko and Sio in the top 25?

If not, the cap may have been a part of the reason for not elevating them as they would have to be added to this year's total....

Also we've all seen how succesful elevating kids too soon can be....

I've heard that Loko is being primed for a first-grade debut next year, apparently....the club/coach seem to want to test him out, even though I agree it is far too early.

On Johnathon Wright guys, Ossie confirmed tonight at an official Supporters meeting that Jono is going to the Bulldogs.

So, who else went to this official supporters meeting? Anything else said?

Dunno mate, sorry. This is hearsay off people who went there, but I don't think they would have any reason to lie; I didn't even know there was anything like a 'Supporters Meeting', and it seems strange no-one here has reported it yet.

IMO this is a bit weird, but it's confirmation I guess for something we already basically knew :(
