Yeah, I know. The bloke stated in his retirement Instagram post that he has aspirations of starting his own business - certainly sounds like he's on his way to jail.

And not only does he have an entrepreneurial spirit, but he stands up to government tyranny.

He drove a car. To the bush. And was issued with a Court Attendance Notice - totally reasonable and proportional response from the NSW Police Force.
If you want to discuss politics I suggest you head over to 4 corners

Dugan in his first 2 years was something man
That kid was so talented and tough... his career and where he got to from where he was at 19... Just brutal.

Fergo fell victim to the siren call of the turtle neck and cardigan. Full credit to the Duges for resisting temptation.
I'm sure that turtle neck was on loan from Uncle Nick. Following the photoshoot ole Fergo was probably begging to sniff the photographer's panties.

bloke was a decent fullback but had minimal ball skills, which over the last 10 years have become more and more important for fullbacks, making him less suitable to the position. He never really had the pace to be a winger, which left him to be a centre, where he went okay, but never hit the levels you would have expected of him early on.

That said, if the bloke had no football ability he’d be selling bags outside his local fish and chips shop.

Who on earth thought he was worth 950k a season????

I don't recall him ever finishing a game without clutching at something and claiming injury.

I think he even missed a game due to a boil under his armpit. Feral.

Not long until he becomes a bikie or some other bogan deadshit retirement plan.
yah 950K is Mbye level of fantasy....

SuperCoach Flanno.

He won a comp and thought he could coach anyone and we had lost Bird so he panicked and got Dugan with no plan what so ever.

Nah mate doesn’t work like that. He gets no more money from the sharks as of his termination date.
From the site of the Fair Work Ombudsman:

Serious misconduct

When an employee is terminated on the grounds of serious misconduct, the employer doesn't have to provide any notice of termination. However, the employer does have to pay the employee all outstanding entitlements such as payment for time worked, annual leave and sometimes long service leave. Whether an employer needs to pay out long service leave depends on where the entitlement comes from, usually state or territory long service leave laws.

Yes mate but his contract with the club finished at the end of this season. There is no annual leave for him as he doesn’t have a contracted off and pre season with the sharks. Even if he did the non pay period would still be from last week til November… a significant amount of money saved.

Annual leave is two months from the day of the team's last game, or an exit interview shortly after. His contract ended on October 31. They would have withheld the $50k fine imposed by the NRL but if I were him I'd be seeking advice about that since he was not in the team bubble.
