Its no coincidence that the Eels and Raiders seem to be going from bad to worse. Hell they even have the deadshit stuart factor!

When clubs are run like rabble it reflects on the field

I'd be careful BVM, there are some Raiders fans that don't like it when "outsiders" criticise/question their clubs culture. Not that different to some Bronc fans.

Now that the majority of riff raff is gone hopefully the off field stuff ends as well.

Still doesnt stop you from wondering what itd be like if one team had dugan, ferguson and carney on the field at once....

Salary cap would have sorted that out I'd guess Victor. One problem is Canberra have appeared to had the issue of paying overs to keep & attract talent to Canberra.

Obviously there have been issues at the raiders. However there have been some positive signs since Stuart has come in. Early days yet obviously but the re signing of wighton is a big deal imo since it was clear he wanted out a few weeks ago.

You guys are paying Dugan a similar amount

Not sure on the amount, but similar isn't the same is it. We got him cheaper for the next couple of years compared to what canberra would have hd to pay to keep him there over the same period.

In our current state we have to pay overs to attract talent due to our coach, we accept it. It will change next year for us I hope. Problem is canberra is, and always will be canberra.

Reality is Pete, it may not be fair, but that's life.

which is why its so vital that we get some help in getting some development concessions. We arent ever going to sign an elite player, so when we produce them, the NRL should be having our back and making it easy for us (and others btw) to keep developed elite players

If your not going to do that, then you might as well wind it up in canberra, hand the riverina over to the AFL and move our license elsewhere. Because until such time where the NRL allow us to have a level playing field (and a GOV town doesnt under this current salary cap situation), we will continue to be irrelevant.

Canberra isn't the only club who loses players they develop.

The club culture is obviously a major issue why players leave. You can't expect NRL concessions because your club culture has been shyte in recent times.

Im not going to waste time explaining how Canberra's culture doesnt really have much to do with

a. Todd Carney, Blake Ferguson and Josh Dugan's upbringing, all of whom were known to child protection/welfare services for various reason, which statistics tell us is most like the major contributor to their anti authoritarian personalities. Blake has issues before he got us, Carney had issues after he left and im tipping you as a saints fan will suffer similar issues with dugan...

b. Heart disease and the exploitation of that by a scum club in regards to Anthony Milford

So what ever Johnsy, you can sit there and look down your nose at the raiders, i couldnt care less.

The NRL needs to sort these problems out, or just cut us and move the license elsewhere and surrender the elite sporting talent of the riverina to the AFL.

Developement concessions?

If your club is too rabble to keep its own juniors thats your managements problem. Every club looses a few thats the nature of the beast.

Making playing for Canberra an attractive proposition, IE strong team environment, coach people want to play for and a good culture and you wont have to pay overs to keep even contracted players.

Raiders only problem is the Raiders itself, unlike the Eels atleast you guys have the roster to do something.

EDIT: Love how Canberra still thinks Riverina and all of Country NSW is their nursery. Type of idiotic attitude is so typical of a Canberra fan.

It's because of the amount of money and resources that the Raiders pump into it. Take that money away and what happens?

Happy for you to name a club that devotes more time, energy and resources than we do to the Riverina?

you are paying him 700k next year, we would be paying him 600k..the paying overs thing isnt as true as one would think in general. We can't attract talent because of location but I doubt Ferguson is going to be earning much less money out of Canberra.

We just had our salary cap tied up in dumb areas. Still do really but the mass exodus has given a bit of breathing room. We are paying that prop rotation obscene money for what we get out of it.

At the moment we simply cannot attract corporate money like other clubs can due to location. There isn't the same amount of corporate money in Canberra facts of life that we have to deal with. Junior concessions would go a way of correcting this imbalance.

We do alright financially. I understand why there is a salary cap. It's to stop teams going broke but the raiders are financially secure so why should the cap disadvantage us.

Oh please.

Thats the Raiders choice and any benefits they get more power to them. However don't consider that or anything out of the ACT your territory.

Wait, what? With how bland a team they are I thought I was watching a test pattern...
A test patter at least LOOKS interesting. Brisbane's continually abysmal jersey designs make a test pattern look like the f*cking Bayern Tapestry!

Imagine if the Raiders had the Broncos/Dogs/Storm management and coaches running the place, ..... Raiders fans need to stop having a sook and a whinge about loosing players and instead have a look at your board, management and coaches because thats where the real problem is!
I understand where they are coming from. They did the right think punting Carney - only to see him make a GF with Easts. Same with Dugan. At that point they werent to know that Fergo was going to get the Mundine cancer, or that Earl would emerge as the first ASADA scalp. What started as simply punting one dickhead has resulted in the collapse of their gun backline. The LAST thing they need is f*cking Brisbane turning up like a buzzard with a Swiss bank account, to lure a fullback to go with the other fullback they lured, to go with the f*cking fullback they already have!!!!!!!

Then again, Canberra did the same thing with Papali, and then Sticky. They have no more moral right to whinge at Brisbane for doing the f*cking same thing!!!!!!

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. 1. Dugan 2. Earl 3.Ferguson 5. Milford - theres a premiership winning backline in the making. Maybe the management problem is this: Some clubs have a no dickhead policy. Some clubs have a "whatever it takes" policy - that s if you are a gun on the field, your dickheadness can be overlooked. TBH no one wants a twat in their side, but success on the paddock means attracting the best players, not the nicest ones. Sounds like the problems between Dugan/Ferguson/Earl and the likes of Picker/Shillington - who bagged Furner for not taking action, may have been lessened if the latter had less sway. On the fce of it, the board has swung behind the players who wont win games for them, and against those who will. Cronulla copped the same fate in 08 when they punted Bird during the finals. Very noble, but they have never recovered.

Meanwhile, Easts sign SBW, Jennings and O'Donnell and win a comp.

Its no coincidence that the Eels and Raiders seem to be going from bad to worse. Hell they even have the deadshit stuart factor!

When clubs are run like rabble it reflects on the field
OI. The dawn has broken at Parra. Watch us begin our rise in 14. As for Canberra..........

That's pretty funny considering that for the first 7 or 8 years we played out of Seiffert Oval in Queanbeyan, and the Canberra Raiders Cup includes teams from Queanbyan, Goulburn and Yass.

They are our territories. Deal with it.

I think Brad Arthur and Daniel Anderson if given support by the board COULD get better, Hopoate and Hayne are good building blocks they just need to be given a free reign to make the adjustments to the roster and more importantly the TIME.
