4 weeks is the going rate for breaking a guys leg is it? f**k me that is PISS WEAK. Should have been 8-10 minimum.
f**k off idiot. Surely you're being sarcastic? Compare Clearys hip drop which ruled Billy Walters out for a number of weeks with a hip injury.

1 week for every month of injury seems pretty fair. Injury doesn't really add much to suspensions though. Probably 2 weeks for tackle. 2 weeks for the injury.

Jordan McLean only got 7 weeks for the tackle that crippled a guy for life. 2/3 weeks more than dangerous tackles that didn't cause injury at all.

Not sure why everyone expects incredibly long suspensions. It can easily be argued they should be suspended far longer. Especially when its intentional. But these days nothing ever cops the punishment fans think it will.

That is such a rugby league thing, lets punish the outcome rather than the act. It's beyond dumb. 4 weeks is fine, but how does Cleary get a fine...the only difference is one gets injured and one doesn't.

The injury should not define the punishment.
Mind you with our judiciary who knows what defines the punishment

I thought the tackle that caused Will Kennedy's injury was worth a couple of weeks at least on the Carrigan standard.

Think there needs to be two in the tackle for it to be considered a hip drop.

Coaches aren't dumb, they'll be sending in 80kg rookies to perform these tackles from now on

Pat probably weighs in at 110 or something? maybe an 80kg player doesn't break his leg

From the article

But what will cause him real concern is that only two weeks ago, the NRL warned all clubs about the dangers of hip drop tackles, in which a player is held by two tacklers and then a third player comes in around the waist and pulls him to the ground, causing major damage to legs, knees or ankles.

Pretty sure guys have been hit with fines as a single tackler, Though in theory clears up the confusion about the Tatola tackle

All the Broncos fans trying to defend their grub with their "but but but Cleary only got fined" only needed to read back 1 page to find out why their grub got suspended and others didn't.

Surely the people defending Carrigan tonight just walk in with the footage of what Nathan Cleary did to Billy Walters

He got a fine for that, that's all he got. Just because Hastings has a broken leg as a result of the tackle shouldn't be what determines the punishment, it will be though, sadly

What's the difference? if anything Nathan's was worse as he was the only person in the tackle and had full control over where Billy could end up
Haha you dumbmerkin
