if he had of taken the early plea, he would have got 1 week and still ended up with 87 carry over points, which means the slightest further issue after that and he'd risk a 1 or 2 week ban anyway

plus we can't afford to drop ANY games from here on in ... if we consider him important to the team, we couldn't take the attitude of, oh well we can go without him and it doesn't matter if we lose this week ... its all or nothing from here on

it was a stupid thing, but realisticly compare what he did to others who get 2 weeks and imo its too much

Tend to agree here,

Also they went to the Judiciary fighting the Grading, not the charge. Yea he hit Prince with an elbow, but i would say he's unlucky not to have had it downgraded to a Grade 1..

he also gives away a sh*tload of penalties each game if it wasnt for paul gallen he would be close to be the most penalised player in the nrl

I think that is because the refs are attracted to him, and find it is the only way to attract his attention, by blowing the whistle.

huh?

James Maloney is the most penalized player in the NRL. (23 in 19)

Then it's Lewis and Watmough, (19) then Ennis (16), Laffranchi + King (15) etc.

This year Gallen has only given away 12 penalties in 19 games!

And Ben Smith is tied with Mannah to be our most penalized - both have 11 (which ranks them equal 38th worst in the league.)

It's not all THAT bad....

I think it's exxaggerated by the fact that Benny usually gives out a penalty at the worst times.

ohhhh - so Ben isn't a bad mutha after all :( .... he's only as bad as Tim
and Tim is an angel from Heaven, so thats not very bad at all.

So in conclusion, what im sure Marshal was trying to say was we are a team of very good boys, and Ben should never have been suspended! :D

I like stories..

Stupid suspension...can we protect kickers any more? I reckon the NRL should just say that kickers are untouchable, at least it'd be official then
