Dont get too excited, Parra fans are getting Emails telling them aggressive behaviour will result in blah blah blah, the security will make it all about them and will be ejecting people for SFA. Signs, paper bags, wooden spoons etc will be confiscated. Absolute joke, roll out the red carpet, the poor little cheats are in town.

I'd actually applaud Parra officials in all honesty.

Look at the people posting stating they are making a special effort to get to this game, even non-Parra fans.

Not directing this at anyone on the board, but you can gaurentee the publicity around this situation means the game will attract a special sub-group of idiots that will be determined to cause trouble.

It may seem heavy handed, but what do we propose the officials do to try and keep a lid on the kind of idiocy that could occur? I mean look back to the Lyon return as an example.

Lyon got off lightly, they should have hired security to put him in a headlock, so it was easier to aim our 20 cent pieces.

I dont wan't to hurt anyone, or swear infront of the kiddies, but I do want to get drunk, bang a wooden spoon on the sponsor boards, and have lunch bags with monopoly money and throw it at the benchies warming up, and generally abuse anything in purple about being a cheat.
But due to the build up, this will equal eviction, and I dont think it should.

& what will the publicity for the club be like if even a small group of idiots get out of control?

Look to Canterbury's reputation as a prime example of how a small group of idiots can destroy an entire clubs rep.

Whilst the vast majority will be well behaved (enough ;-)) and will prob suffer from seemingly draconian treatment, as you think you will as an individual - It is for the larger benefit.

I agree with the bad element, but my issue is when behaviour that is more larrikin than thug, and over reactions occur from the security.

Even at Parra Dogs games, I have seen groups of Dogs fans booted out for playing a bongo etc. it pisses me off.

Oh look, I agree mate, it's unfortunate that the majority suffer because of a handful of idiots, but the media wankfest that will occur if a small minority screw up is what the club is trying to avoid.

The blame lies with those idiots who can't keep themselves under control.

I would rally for an empty stadium if News LTD (NRL) has asked for the red carpet treatment of these Scumbags, spend money and watch the game in the leagues club instead.

http://news.smh.com.au/breaking-new...face-stormy-eels-reception-20100602-wyz0.html
Nathan Hindmarsh has warned Melbourne players to brace themselves for a rough ride from Parramatta fans during Friday's NRL grand final rematch.
The Eels lost 23-16 in last season's final to a Storm side that was $700,000 over the salary cap, and Hindmarsh is expecting the home supporters to give the Storm a hostile reception at Parramatta Stadium.
Eels chief executive Paul Osborne has offered extra security to Melbourne ahead of the game, a move that was rejected by the club who were stripped of their two grand final victories and three minor premierships due to the salary cap breaches.
Osborne also made the point of warning Eels fans to behave themselves and show respect to the fallen champions, a move backed by his co-captain.
"I hope we get a decent crowd, I hope we don't get the booing, but I think we will get a lot of that," Hindmarsh said.
"I don't think it will bother them though, they have copped it at Canberra and I am sure they have heard it all before.
"But our fans are pretty passionate, I hope it is a good atmosphere and can help lift us.
"The Storm are still playing good football, they haven't turned their toes up and are making it as difficult as possible for teams to beat them."
Hindmarsh also warned his teammates not to think they can replicate last year's stunning run of form as they look to get their season back on track.
The pre-season title favourites slipped out of the top eight after last Friday's 30-0 humbling by St George Illawarra at Kogarah, a game that came on the back of a shock defeat at home to lowly Cronulla.
Although Hindmarsh is adamant the Eels are still good enough for a top-four finish he said they should not look back to the second-half of last season where they won seven of their last eight games to sneak into the finals, before going on to reach the grand final.
"I think we got them (Melbourne) about the same time last year just after Origin and beat them and that helped us get back on track," he said.
"But we are not expecting that to happen ... where we just think we can rely on getting results ... which is why the last two weeks have been very disappointing for us.
"We are not far off clicking we showed that against the Bulldogs and then Manly who were in good form and we can play better than we have recently."
"We just played silly against Cronulla and against the Dragons, which wasn't really a 30-0 loss ... we went close a few times and they scored a couple of late scrappy tries."

Yes, fair point.

Not ALL Melbourne fans have acted like morons since the breach was exposed.

The fool I was responding to most certainly has though.

You're wrong, because if you read through all these threads, you'd noticed I have hardly posted in this forum, some posts in jest and some voicing my opinion on what I thought was wrong.

How did we carry on with the Bulldog drama? If your refering to ealier in the year, the fights were between Bulldogs fans.

In saying *we* I meant that Storm fans weren't baying for blood like some of the posters on here.
I realise its generally just banter and fun, but a few posters go overboard.

Your comments across all forums count. Just because you are more restrained here knowing you won't get much agreeance in your ridiculous views on the Storm's cheating doesn't discount what you say elsewhere.

I think it's very unfair to be targeting the fans. Sure, say what you like to the players but if anyone wants to take me on they'll get a groin full of knee and an eyeball full of my best capsicum serum.
