Didn't like Pratt much in GOTG, seems to confuse roguish Solo-esque charm with a default douchey smirk and throwing in something goofy every now and then. Wasn't convinced that anyone would band behind his character as a leader or that he'd easily pick up a foxy lady.

He's like the token *funny guy* of the group in the pub. He knows he has to force in something witty every couple of minutes but he doesn't have the delivery or the punchline, so he hits and misses and ends up forgettable without being too annoying.

Didn't help that his character wasn't written quite badly to be fair.

Saw it twice over the weekend. Loved it.

When the Jurassic Park theme started when the kids were on the monorail to the park at the start I got goosebumps.

Broke boxoffice records:

CNN is reporting that the long-awaited sequel brought in $511.8 million globally during its first three days, which is the best worldwide debut in the history of Hollywood. The previous mark was set in 2011, when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 made a paltry $483.2 million. It goes without saying that the fourth Jurassic Park film will join the ranks of the ever-growing $1 billion club in the coming weeks, becoming the 22nd film to accomplish that feat.

Doubling the original weekend estimate proffered by Universal Jurassic World is now coming in at a reported $204.6M ($204,596,380) for its opening weekend, the 2nd biggest of all time, taking an Express Pass by this May's Avengers: Age of Ultron ($191.2M) and almost catching Marvel's The Avengers ($207.4).

Saw it on the weekend as well, loved it.

Went in with such low expectations but gotta admit, they did a great job with this one.

Very enjoyable film *major spoiler*

Especially the fat kid riding the triceratops :D

Chris Pratt has got it, whatever it is.

Alot better than I expected, real edge of your seat stuff

The T-rex v Hybrid showdown had the Godzilla "let them fight" feeling, my only gripe with that was I had trouble telling them apart in some shots, but no big deal.

Originally the hybrid was meant to have human DNA, I was almost expecting that would be a big reveal since they were talking about how intelligent it was.

It can't be breaking records. Obviously false, BF said the fast and the furious would be the all time greatest

My favourite scene was when the bird dinosaurs are attacking the tourists and it is absolute mayhem. There's a shot of one guy taking the time to carefully pick up both his margaritas and making sure not to spill as he escapes. I was dying hahahaha!

That was Jimmy Buffett. He has a resteraunt chain called margarittaville and has done some song. I'd never heard of him pre film but a fair few people were excited by his cameo.

Really loved the film. Cheesy in parts, very nostalgic. Everything you could want from a Jurassic Park film.

I didn't like the film

Had some huge plot holes

CGI was good and the theme park scenes in the first half an hour were awesome but really I just didn't like the film overall

I know this opinion won't be popular but it just wasn't my cup of tea

Never heard of Jimmy Buffett means I'm getting old.
He actually had a hit song called Margarittaville along with a host of others.
Music borders on country I suppose.
Loves sailing, drinking and pot and has basically made a living out of doing just that.
Come Monday, lets get drunk and screw,Pencil thin moustache and plays his part in the song it's 5 o clock somewhere.
Ok I'm old.

It is a watchable kids film. What more did you expect? What did the kids think?

What were the plot holes? I didn't notice any myself - besides the Jack Black King Kong type issue where each dinosaur only had to be dealt with once and then were never heard from again (besides the main one, obviously).

I actually enjoy discussing those types of things in movies and TV shows so I am interested to hear. Generally most movies that I like have big plot holes if I stop and think about them, and the sign of a good movie is usually that you just don't notice them while watching.

yeah I wouldn't be taking little kids anywhere near JW either.

Really young ones maybe not, but I didn't see anything too bad in there for kids. I mean yeah people get eaten and what have you but I saw the original movie when I was 9 and never had any nightmares or anything like that.

The bit where the chick lures the T. Rex with a flare then out runs it to get it to the hybrid was pretty ridiculous

Ditto the raptors deciding the hybrid was bad, let's save the humans

Also the lads cruising through the jungle on motorbikes at night following the raptors

Hell even making a hybrid that had camouflage capabilities or the fact the hero survived the hybrid by putting motor oil all over himself. Come le f**k on

Even the fact that there is an unstoppable killing on the loose but Indiana Jones and female equivalent just go driving off with only a shot gun to find the boys ( who Hotwire a car they just find sitting there) is pretty out there

Really? He has always been brilliant on Parks and Recs, his comedic ability is up there with the best.

Indeed. This is one of the funniest lines from the show, and this apparently (as the story goes) was completely improvised by Chris Pratt.

You're upset that a movie about dinosaurs is out there?

I thought it was a fun movie to watch and loved the build up to the end. Everyone wanted to see the T-Rex take on the D-Rex, and making that the climax of it was done right. How else would you have the D-Rex taken down?
