I think if you want a good half you have to fork money. I will be interested to know how much Cronk and Orford gets. If you compare Mort and Timmy (first year), Mort is way behind. Timmy was good, he was real good. For Mort to be in JT/AJ level, it is a long long way. I do think we can wait that long. Secondly, I trust Ando , Ossie what they are doing. If they think they can fit JT so bit.

On Thurston, halfback is the most important position so yes imo we should pay market at the very least to snare him. Imagine the sponsors, publicity, season ticket holders, etc his signing would attract. Could only be a positive thing and if done smartly, we could hold onto the Mateos et al as other clubs seem to do.
