gaz isn't in the top 5 centres, he not even the best centre at his club!

inglis, hodges, lyon, lawrence & idris are all better than gaz....

Hodges is definitely the games best centre and has been for many years.

His biggest problem was injuries (here's hoping he stays fit) and his discipline. Discipline is his biggest issue and by the looks so far he seems to have gotten passed it. Three years ago I would have been happy to see the back of him because he'd always be on the sideline because he couldn't help but throw/spear tackle another player to prove a point.

Hopefully he has grown up and matured.

But to answer OP, yes he is the world's best centre.

Hodges involvement in a game has him pissing on the also rans

Hodges/Inglis for mine is the most awesome centre pairing since Gene Miles and Mal Meninga

It's true Hodges has always been shut down by cooper. But its not like cooper has had it all over him in attack, just shows that cooper is a good defensive centre

Tigers supporter here and hate QLD but

From an NRL Club point of view if all the centres were guarenteed to be fit (or in Greg's case Injury free at least) this would be my choices

Hodges
Inglis
Lawrence
Lyon
Gasnier

Although all are great players and offer different things but Hodges before his year off with injury was just ahead of Inglis who struggles for consistency in NRL, Lawrence has been getting better and better , Lyon is more creative and tough and Gasnier still has class although isnt up to the level he was before

how can you be the best centre in the world when yer best move is to go to dummy half and run from there...give me a running centre any day

He is a running center, he runs from dummy half makes 150 metres a game and breaks the line often. He also scores tries. All of these things involve running.

If i had to select a team to play for my life not only would hodges be the first centre picked, he'd be one of the first players overall picked.

Massive respect for the guy - the same step and fend still leaves world class players grasping at thin air. Hodges is easily the best centre over the past 15 years IMO. He has been the most consistent and dominant IMO.

He is all class and only Inglis at his best compares.
