Justin Poore's nerves over taking on Dragons

I'm really pleased Justin Poore has been added to our team, but somewhat disturbed to hear his comments about not liking the area - eg on RL Summertime on Fox , he said he didn't like being so far away from the surf. Fair enough , but it does smack of a mercenary approach . I'm sure Poore's heart and attitude are in the right place , but it's like DA said in the annual report "Representing Parramatta should never be taken for granted."
I recall one other big name signing who it seemed didn't really want to be here and ended up back from where he came - Adam Dykes.

well perhaps i should add the fact that Justins parents have alot of influence on Justin and at this stage unless things change dramatically, eels fans shouldn't expect him to be around beyond his current contract. His parents are so keen on him going to play in england and get the big cash.

I'm not posting this out of rumour.. i know it for fact.

Lucky he didn't sign with Canberra, would have ended up topping himself. What a sook, plenty of people commute from one side of Sydney to the other.

Do they want him to fund their retirement?

If he does his job, fair enough.

If he slackens and doesn't put in just to get the cash, well......

Gee - calm down.

He's at a new club for the first time. He has also stated many a time that he loves it here at this new club.

Put the noose away.

yeah SOO selection time.
I remember everyone saying he should wear his queensland jumper under his parra jersey, as he only played well in the maroon.

hes a typical sth coast guy, loves the beach the fresh air etc but once he plays a game of footy with parra all that will be behind him, even when he signed with us he said he will miss th beach and stuff the most. and to say hes missing his old club? this is the first article or interview ive seen with him where he has even referred to the dragons ex team mates. he was there for 6 years had junior games in the red v he came through the ranks with most of that team anyone whose done that at any club will have a hard time playing their first game against them and for poore its in round 1. so he probs to me would be more nervous about putting in a good performance. as soon as he runs out with cayless and hindy he will get pumped and anypone would be pumped watching fui run the ball to the line. he will soon forget about the dragons. the biggest positive to come out of all his interviews is he loves the club and has fun at training again where he hadnt for a while.

Why not buy a house in the southern suburbs and drive to parra everyday, like many other players do.Would be the same at other clubs too

Still long drive though and he'd be missing peak surf times... just like the rest of us living in the west
