Freddy and Sterlo's thoughts on the hit...

NSW State of Origin coach Fittler came out in support of Waerea-Hargreaves, saying he did not do anything wrong during the tackle while Eels great Sterling said he couldn’t understand why he was charged.

“It’s not late. It’s not high. He gets him across the chest,” Sterling said.

JWH is a good man and has never made a malicious move in his life. He is denigrated because of his size and fearsome appearance, which is misleading people into thinking he is evil.

Nope. Just plain f**king dumb. Why else would you deliberately go out to hurt someone.

How can he be charged with contact with the head when he made contact with his chest?

Or did he brush his penis? Are they talking about that head?

Anyway he is contesting the charge and as we know the Roosters are a protected species he will get off

I'm sure there's a Nathan Brown joke in there somewhere.

So we're going to say that shoulder contact with the head while the player is standing is a no-no... but coming down on a players head with the point of your shoulder on the ground is fine?

You're a funny lot.

He is allowed to drive through the tackle. His head was just in an unfortunate spot.

As if Hargreaves didn’t mean it.
FFS
The ball was about 20 metres away by the time he hit Ponga.
Then the tough guy went on with by hitting him in the head with his shoulder.

By the time this driving through happened and his shoulder slammed fair into Ponga's face, the bal;l was long gone, and he could and should have pulled out of it. Players do this all the time. There's an additional effort well after he knows the ball is gone. I think he's a thug and should go.

Fittler and Sterling should be admonished for publicly buying into a matter that is before the judiciary.

The video shows that it was a legal tackle. JWH has nothing to answer for.

You are either suffering from old age or wearing rose-coloured classes. It was a classless act from Kiwi International Jared Warea-Hargreaves and it will be dealt with accordingly.

The timing of the tackle is not under question.

If they charged him with a late hit I don't think he would have much chance of getting off. As it is they have charged him due to the contact and he should absolutely get off that charge

Well he looked like a complete cat.
Getting smashed on the scoreboard , then takes out the small bloke with a dog shot.
Cat and dog at the same time.

It was unecessary contact with the head and neck. It looked shit. The game doesn’t need dog shots by players on the losing team. It’s tough enough as it

They don't charge with late hits, only dangerous contact. The charges were simplified a couple of years back. It's a shoulder to the face but it's aggravated by the fact he could easily have pulled out of it.

You wonder how things would have turned out if JWH had taken out the Newcastle playmaker in the days when the Chief was running around. Even now he probably checked that Klemmer was off the field first.

Lol say what you want about him but he certainly isn't scared to take anyone on.

He took the next hit up we had an none of the cowards had the guts to try and put a hit on him.

They were too tired from all that point scoring they’d been doing.
Old mate would’ve had heaps of energy left.
