No question about it, losing Hurrell to get Matai would be an epic fail. But having them both so we could ditch Nielsen would be great. And then Laumape takes over Matai's spot when he get's too old.

The rumour about Isaac Luke excites me more. I've always wanted him to be a Warrior.

Luke would be absolutely awesome for Warriors. While having a tackle bot hooker like Friend has some use, an aggressive running and pretty good vision hooker like Luke is gold - IMO he and Farah are on par just behind grub Smith (who has elevated status due to getting away with everything).

Would love to see Matai here too, this year he has been awesome for Manly, although definitely not here at the expense of Hurrell.

Sam Moa yes please, R Hoffman, no thanks - he would be a classic Melbourne export who turns to shit elsewhere, especially as he is on his last legs.

None of the above will happen of course, and my faith in the warriors is nearing bottoming out.

I disagree. Because a string of players have left the Storm and looked much worse than they did in Melbourne I feel there's a bit of a lazy trend towards dismissing all the Storm players outside of the 'Big 3' (plus Inglis & Folau when they were there, obviously). However there are plenty of counter-examples to prove that it isn't always the case... Gareth Widdop is the most recent, but Dallas Johnson, Nathan Friend, Jeremy Smith & Sika Manu have all looked good outside of Melbourne too.

Hoffman runs some really intelligent lines. Certainly better than anything currently on the market for the left edge (probably the spot we need to fill the most, unless we can nab a top notch prop and move Matulino there fulltime). He is 30 this year so he's not a long term buy... but 2-3 years? Why not? During that time we can hope a young edge forward like Faitala-Mariner or Henry starts to really take hold of first grade opportunities and develop into his replacement.

RLW:

Luke > Warriors
Matai > Warriors
Hurrell > Souths

According to Dean Bell we are pursuing a "quality" Kiwi centre and an edge back rower.

I don't really want a 200+ game, 30-year-old Matai. Hell of a player when fit and well (been great this year) but you know it's going to unravel at some stage. If it's a 1-2 year deal while Laumape gets up to speed...maybe. Just maybe. Wouldn't want to be paying boat loads for him.

Sam Moa as someone else said, hell yes but the Roosters usually keep the men they want, and I can't see they wouldn't want to keep him.

Luke, yes please.

I'd take Matai if he brings Watmough with him.

Can't see either happening though.

Issac Luke on the other hand. Meant to be.

Aiden Tolman for Sam Rapira would be a great result for the Warriors.
Superconsistent player always cracking 100+M and 30-40 tackles a game. Go to NRLStats.com.au which is the site David Middleton collates information. He would be just what our prop rotation needs. Safe pair of hands, doesn't make dumb errors and works hard every week. Probably got a nice payrise when he moved from Melbourne to Canterbury but I would throw a bunch of money at him to entice him over here.
Player in the same mould as Steve Price which I reckon is what we need in the team again.

Isaac Luke wont come here, more likely to Broncos or Tits as his wife is from there. As for Matai no thanks, didn't he use the Warriors as leverage to bump up his contract last time.

The Hurrell one isn't happening. For a start, this is all coming from rlw mole. Who is upset because Elliott has gone. Which makes his line into the Warriors dead and buried. Even when Elliott was there, this bloke had Locke to Bulldogs as a certainty, Fish was long gone, Mateo was already wearing the red V... he's a numpty who's very very rarely right about the Warriors.

I doubt ANY of those stories RE the Warriors is happening.

Do Bell, McFaddin & Wayne-Kerr all sit and and decide who is the best fit or does Wayne & Dean tell Cappy who they are recruiting? Teo is a good player but I wonder if he does fit the culture that Cappy is trying to create.

Regardless where we finish, I expect Cappy to still be in charge at for 2015/16

Gee that's turning back the clock isn't it in the sense it would take a big bridge to get over how we axed him in the first place.

I don't think he'd be bad for our culture. Since leaving the Tigers he's been an excellent player who has become a leader and a rep star. It'd be a good signing for mine, although I think hooker, centre and prop are far higher priorities.

Zero chance Teo comes.

My understanding is that the coach identifies the needs and then Bell goes out and pretends he's making it happen.

he's a numpty who's very rarely right about anything. Just trawls forums i think, picking whatever rumour seems loudest at the time.

He's kinda like a Rugby League Ken Ring

I'd be really surprised if Teo was one of our priority targets. For that price, surely it'd be $$ spent better elsewhere. Just like I'd believe we'd be silly to move Locke on. Like any side, you're only as good as your forward pack and your go forward. Look at the transformation of the Tigers this year with a big of mongrel in their bellies.

I still think Locke has a lot to offer us and he's only mid-20's. He was one of our stars back in our charge to the 2011 GF and was one of the top fullbacks going around. Since then we've had 3 or 4 coaches and all with different philosophies. When Locke was on his game, the Warriors were always playing top class footy. It's nearly a case of making a spot for Locke in the side. Weren't we supposedly in the market for Hiku last week and in my mind they're quite similar players. I wonder if it's been considered that Locke played centre? He'd have his hands on the ball more often, he's quick enough and his D would be up to it. Tomkins still isn't proven in this comp so we still need quality cover. If Locke is still regularly in 1st grade then that's only got to be good for us.

Funny thing is, when Bell was recruited to the club in our first year most of us were thrilled. A 'true professional' we all said, with both Sydney and English experience.

How'd we know it would turn out like this?
