Was SK a fancy ball playing back rower as a player? Or a no nonsense hard worker like hindy? If it was the ball playing option then why don't we have exciting footy to play? If he's a hard worker type then I understand why he's having a hard time with the players we have

Serious question?

If so: Kearney was an absolutely outstanding backrower. Was a "winner" wherever he went. Did not shy away from the hard yards, but very well known for knowing when and where to offload or pass before the line.

If you want to look at SK's playing career and deduce that he has problems with the current squad, then it would go along these lines: Kearney was a very smart and very good footballer. Some of his current charges are very dumb and/or very bad players.

Do the coaching team actually try and improve Sandow's defense?

He should look at tapes of Alfie langer and other small dudes and try and make a plan for him to change his tackling style.

If Kearney carries it out, it is certainly a ballsy move.

Personally I would give him the week off. Given how we are playing and where we are at I would say that less may very well equal more.

EDIT

And congrats to Vai Toutai and Matty Eisenhuth on the promotion!!!!

This will come back to bite Kearney big time. What a stupid move, even to name Sandow in reserves. He can`t get him to perform through normal coaching strategies so he`s resorting to threats? I really don`t think this is the way to go. Besides, isn`t Sandow carrying an injury? That`s what everyone`s saying. So, if he is, why not rest him?

Maybe it is just mind games?

Might be a bit of a wake up call for him and get him some confidence back.

how the hell can he be 'dropped' when first grade isnt playing this weekend? :?
for mine its just taking an opportunity of the rep game schedule to give him some extra game time without the pressure of first grade

This
There are also Sterlo's comments about him having to lose 4-5kgs. There's nothing wrong with a coach giving a player extra opportunities to improve his fitness. He did the same thing with Horo last year.

For mine this is a bad move.

Not necessarily the decision to play him in reserves, but to bother naming him.

Why not just make him a late inclusion on game day to avoid the media scrutiny this is bound to attract?!

Good point. This could have been handled better perhaps - unless of course there is an example being made.
