There are also Sterlo's comments about him having to lose 4-5kgs. There's nothing wrong with a coach giving a player extra opportunities to improve his fitness. He did the same thing with Horo last year.

How has that worked out for Horo?

I think he`ll feel humiliated. I think it`s the wrong move.

Mate he's not a 14 year old school kid and nor should he be treated like one by us worrying about a little embarrassment. He's on close to half a million a year and is a professional athlete who is under performing. It's only a bit of media speculation that is even suggesting that Sandow might not want to play on the weekend.
If he deserved a well earned rest he would be getting one but the facts are he's not. Everyone can see it and Sterlo's recent comments have added fuel to the fire that he's not at a level of fitness that he needs to be. I say good on Kearney for not being concerned with what the media, team or speculators on this site think and for making decisions he feels will improve things whether they are seen as popular or not. I'm sure it's one of the main reasons he's there.

What will it achieve? All the media will be there. If he has a shocker, who do we put in the halves?????? I don't know how his confidence will be improved by it.

But Kearney is a super coach, so what would I know?

Why don't you do some research for yourself if you want to know.

OK, he had a very average year last year and is stuck in the NSW cup this year. I'd say it didn't work out well for him. In fact i'd say it worked out f**ken terrible.

Having seen Horo last year and again this year it's my opinion that he's at least looking a lot fitter. The point is that Sandow's fitness reportedly needs improving, so if this is an attempt to do that (which I believe it is), then I'm all for it whether it worked out for Horo or not.

I didn't think Horo was "very average" last year at all. He looked like a first grader.

He's not a superstar - and he's one of the blokes who really seemed to try his hardest in a lot of games. Got stuck making a few silly errors at times and got criticised heavily for those.

Played out of position a fair bit too.

Fair enough, ur right in the fitness benefits that an 80 min game would provide. But surely the risk of injury is far greater. Will he play the whole 80 min anyway? There will be park footballers chomping at the bit to make a name for themselves to take out 'superstar' sandow. The fact that he was clutching at his shoulder/pec last week makes the risk greater.

Well I am shocked at the news of Sandow being named for Wentworthville. IMO this can only go two ways:

1) Sandow does not respond to SK's demands and quits the Eels at the end of the year.
2) Sandow takes it like a professional, works hard to lift his fitness and form, and responds the way good players do to show why he was signed in the first place.

BTW, I thought he was injured? If he is no chance of playing for Wenty anyway, then I don't think all the negative media about the "demotion" is going to help either the club or Sandow.

i'm astounded....it could make Sandow try and bolt overall, now....??

It's no different than the trials which have the same purpose to get players match fit. Injuries are the risk you take but par for the course. We also have players risking injury for Country/ City which IMO has less meaning than our feeder club working towards winning the NSW Cup.

Majority of Parramatta players are mentally weak, something gives me the feeling Sandow is also.

This could get ugly or like someone said it could be a masterstroke, I hope the latter.

i DO NOT think Sandow playing for Wenty is a good thing. to me, its like kicking a guy when he is clearly down on confidence. If he truly wanted to go home, the club should have let him, like many players are this weekend - it did wonders for him last year with Souths after he went home mid-season

Yeah, he should be moved to the centres instead

look, whatever, in my opinion, the Roberts thing at centre would fill a need and could work....he could also play at lock or hooker if necessary. i have an opinion, that's it ok
