I will fix it up, only because a moderator has told me to. I put 'words to the effect of' which is a proper and correct way of saying what someone said without actually directly quoting, but nevertheless it has been fixed and in addition to this, referenced!

One would think this insolent school child would be out playing rugby League, instead of commenting on it & challenging the likes of us old ex-players.

For you sake BTR and to highlight to the moderators, BTR has violated the following:

The crux of the matter...
DELETING THREADS / POSTS / WORDS / IMAGES
Members are asked to hold their discussions in a rational and mature manner. Any posts which abuse membership privileges will be deleted.
These include posts which are:
• Excessively abusive,
• Excessively obscene,
• Excessively vulgar,
• Slanderous or defaming,
• Excessively hateful or racist,
• Personally threatening,
• Excessively sexually-oriented,
or any other material that may be in violation of any applicable laws.

If required, I will quote BTR in undertaking in ALL acts highlighted in bold, some of which have even been shown in this very thread.

What we really hate...
MEMBERS ATTACKING OTHER MEMBERS The vast majority of members join forums to have reasonable and good humoured discussions. However, there are a minority who try to stand out from the crowd by attacking other members.

If one member is being excessively abusive to another member, then deletions of post(s) may be warranted. These are posts which are personally offensive or excessive or by accepted description, are personally threatening.

Additionally, any posts which vilify or aggressively single out another member will be deleted.


When I look at it, BTR & Co breach nearly every guidline!

I take it Dean Moriarty that BTR will also be reprimanded for his actions, we wouldnt want to be one sided now would we?

The "Guidelines" are being broken by a lot of posters on this forum every day of the week.

It seems the "Guidelines" only apply to certain people.

If a moderator pulled you up it's probably because he drinks with BTR on Beer Hill.

If your signature has been the worst thing written on this forum and the only thing pulled up in these past few weeks then that is just a big joke.

Some of the abusive threatening posts coming out of his camp this week have been some of the lowest stuff you'd ever read.

But hey they aren't breaking the "Guidelines" ???

You'll just have to take the extra knocks on the chin and just ignore some of the crap that gets sent your way.

I am more than aware that I skate close to the rules & have had numerous warnings of which I am happy to post.

If you want to take me on, stick to the rules.

& only a person who thinks peachey should have retired last year, could think that Beer hill has 50 moderators srinking there with me. Especially when Im a lableed "foxtel fan".

What does the phrase "pot calling the kettle black" mean?

It takes one to know one. I mean that's what it means , I wasn't calling you a pot. The kettle could answer, "Look who's talking." It goes way back to when cooking was done over fires. If the pot and kettle weren't already black cast iron when new they were soon black from the soot and smoke. The black has nothing to do with 'evil' or race. Usually though, there is a connotation of criticism in both the use of "black" and in the entire phrase. The pot is being hypocritical , criticising the kettle for a quality or action or something that the pot itself has. It's not as strong as Jesus' "log in the eye" analogy, where the critcizer has a bigger flaw than the criticized . If you wanta analyze it a bit more, you could move forward in time to when pots were still cast iron but kettles were being made of tin or other 'white' metals. Then the pot is criticising the kettle for becoming something the pot has always been. Or... the pot was black but the kettle shiny, the pot sees its own reflection in the shiny surface of the kettle and claims that the kettle, not it, was black. But the saying goes back to before white shiny kettles . If someone who spends all day answering questions here in the bag critcizes someone else who spends all day answering questions ( ahem) by saying " you have too much time on your hands," then the pot is calling the kettle black.
