Spot on Cloudsurfer.

But most Eels fans just want to put the embarassment of the past two years behind them. The best way to do that is to put the whole blame on Kearney and then say "It wasn't us! It was Kearney and now he's gone!"

To enable that paradigm they will find it very hard to admit Kearney did any good at the club.

But what do you expect? Most league fans are simpletons.

he is the ex-coach now. Let it go.

True, but since Monie we have had two coaches that focused on building the club, and I like to give credit where it is due.

You are sitting on the fence Poupou to avoid being wrong... If we go well next year it'll be because Kearney has set a solid foundation, if we go s**t it will be because he wasn't there in charge to oversee the squad he built up.

I'm already wrong - I thought we'd do much better this year because I didn't account for the effect of so many new players, Hayne's injuries and the resultant downwards confidence spiral.

Even if I am wrong, what's it got to do with you?

If we go well next year it'll be because Kearney has set a solid foundation

If we go well next year it will be with the squad Kearney built, no doubt. How could you deny that?

Stuart will deserve credit if they overperform, but he won't deserve any credit for the squad. Because he didn't build it. Likewise if we do poorly again. It won't be Stuart's fault.

if we go s**t it will be because he wasn't there in charge to oversee the squad he built up.

If we go shit next year Kearney will definitely deserve some of the blame, just as he deserves some of the blame for us going so poorly this year.

Just let it go Poupou. He's gone.

If he was so good he will get another head coaches job next year. I reckon he will be unemployed.

I used to wake up every morning hoping SK has been sacked or he walked.

In hindsight, I would rather still have him as head coach than have poo posting in these forums.

Any demented simpletons who believe in that theory probably also believe that babies are made in a factory and delivered by a f*cking pelican.

There are, IMHO, two things that set good coaches apart. 1) They develop individual players to be better/more skilled in their position. 2) Their players always play well.

Kearney couldnt motivate a duck to find water. But wow, he did some good things with juniors. But lets not celebrate their staff, it's all Kearney. Sure, he did oversee some improvement in structure and development, He should have been employed to do just that, not collect spoons.

His game plans were abysmal. Players hated them. A coach has to work with the squad assembled and bring out their best, not shackle them. Under Mooks, players looked confused in attack, especially Sandow.

He's a poisoned twat who spent too much time in the evil cess pit of Melbourne to ever bring any good to humanity. He was obsesseed with his "leds". The leds did this, the leds did that. F*cking brainless idiot that inherited a premiership side looking for direction, and turned them into a spoon side.

Its like going to the doctor with a sore throat and leaving in a hearse.

Anyone who regrets Kearney leaving is NOT a Parra fan.

Mark down the date and time. Who would have ever thought I would agree with him.

Comments like that are really helpful. Who the f@% are you to tell people whether they are a Parra fan or not? What about the possibility that otherwise well-meaning people disagree on something? If the comment above is indicative of the mentality of a large proportion of our fans then we will be in trouble for a long time (just wait til we lynch the next bloke).

PS I don't regret him leaving, but respect the effort he put in, and the dignity with which he conducted himself.

It will only be because he doesn't want to.

He will be too busy running NZRL and counting his cash from his huge payout at Parra. Just like Daniel Anderson.
