They got rid of him before the other didn't they?
Luke Burt is not in Steve Turners class.

I'm a Dogs supporter and have to disagree, Luke Burt is a better player than Steve Turner.

Turner is professional and rarely makes a blue but has lost his dash after all his injuries.

Burt has the capacity to do something brilliant, he is a talent and also a good goalkicker (aside from his finals choke)

If I could choose out of either to play for Canterbury I'd go with Burt.

Dw we agree with you, seftonboy seems to have some anti-Burt issues.

btw it wasn't a finals choke, we weren't in the finals :p.

I don't know why I am always surprised by how many nuffy fans we actually have. Yep let's just sack Mortimer after one ordinary season, he may as well join the growing list of players that we disregard and then proceed to make us look stupid for giving them the flick.

Mortimer is more suited for 5/8 and is not yet mature enough to run the side. Way too early to declare Mortimer a bust.

i hope he is forced to start mortimer in every game just like DA was forced to do.

I found it interesting that the first thing he wanted in his contract was power to fire or hire any player.

Sounds to me like DA did not have that power.

Where is all this crap coming from?

Proof s there to the point the club was even scared to drop him for a week.

Then kearney comes out & has assurances that he will be the 1 in charge. You work it out. Tahu has been going off doing what he wants. Coaches & players all here what is going on at each club & the fact Kearney needed that confirmed pretty much spells out what happened.

Remember, DA was also publicly ASSURED by the board he would see out his contract.........:sarcasm:

This is the funniest post ever, luke burt is one of the best wingers in the game IMO, and steve turner played outside the best team in the comp pretty much his whole career, what did he do this year at the Dogs? NOTHING!

I sure am anti-Luke Burt. The guy is past it & his stats for the 2010 NRL show that. Time to bring in some young big fast wingers into the team. I suggest if they pick up Phil Graham or Jordan Atkins he will be in the Black & White next year.
Steve Turner has played Origin & Luke Burt hasn't regardless of how the guy played. I suggest most wingers in the NRL would have been trampled by Greg Inglis that night.
ParraFan09 you have no idea. 89th of 90 for metres gained for NRL wingers in 2010. The guy just gets dominated every time he runs it.
Boxhead you obvioulsy have no idea either mate.
No club in the NRL has EVER tried to poach Burt away from the Eels. They must know something you crocodiles don't.

part of that stat is him getting thrown a hospital pass and getting smashed when he catches it, assuming it was thown at his chest and not his bootlaces or a metre over his head which it was half the time

Phil Graham and Jordan Atkins are not young, and even then, they aren't anywhere near as good in first-grade as Luke Burt.

Steve Turner has played Origin & Luke Burt hasn't regardless of how the guy played. I suggest most wingers in the NRL would have been trampled by Greg Inglis that night.

Beau Scott played Origin didn't he, and most people agree he didn't really deserve it ahead of Jamie Lyon and so on.

Mate, your argument for 89th of 90 doesn't mean crap if he NEVER GETS THE BALL.
If you weren't so blind, you would realize Luke Burt was the form winger of early 2010, at least accept that; if you can't, then just p*ss off.
Funny how pretty much no-one agrees with you, so let me guess, all the coaching staff, trainers, players and experts who say Luke Burt is great all have no idea?
I'm sorry, I'd rather listen to blokes like Laurie Daley, Gus Gould, Warren Smith, Brandy, the Wizz etc who disagree with you.

I never hear those guys praising Luke Burt. Get the Blue & Gold goggles off & realise the guy is past it. So you p*** off you imbo. Great clubman no doubt but it's time for a change.
When he gets the ball is when metres gained are recorded you dribbler. You definately watched different games to me if Luke Burt was the form winger of the entire NRL. This point proves to me that you have no idea & no nothing about rugby league. I don't need to have an opinion from those guys to form my own. Tell me where would you play Burt if Phil Graham signs? I'd have 1.Hayne 2. Graham 3.Reddy 4.Tahu 5.Grothe.

ALL NRL wingers in the modern game are required to do dummy half runs but Burt won't do them because he's gets dominated every time. Sam Perrett is 1 out of 90 because he gets into dummy half & makes good metres allowing the Roosters set of six to go forward. We missed Eric Grothe terribly at the back end of the year because of this very reason. Another role is to defuse bombs but this guy won't attempt to take one.

That's because no-one has every made a play at him. Clubs make enquiries a year or two out of when a players contract expires. I suppose he would keep re-resigning before his contract expired because no other club offered to pay him over what Parra do. A player is great demand won't sign until he can get his best market rate.

You suppose wrong.

The club offered him the new contract extensions.

I get that you dont like him for what ever reason but there is no need to make sh*t up.

there's a reason why he's played first grade under 4 soon to be 5 first grade coach's and it's not because they've reached softboy status...

The majority of Burt's contract extensions would have been during anti-tampering times so no club could have made enquiries a year or two out from his contract expiry

And the Roosters lost the grand final... perhaps if they had Burt kicking the goals for them, they could have applied more pressure on the Dragons at half time
