Cotric for me. Fus is one of, if not the best finisher in the game, but that's not gunna mean shit if we don't have anything for him to finish off.

If Cotric came into our team right now, we would get more value out of him than we are currently getting out of Fus, due to him being lazy and uninterested

Not with Kata inside him we wont, hell he probably wouldn't get the ball because no pass kata would hog it in the hope he would score a try just so he can poke his tongue out in celebration.

Also before the warriors, (who I support) I was and always will be a Raiders fan so theft of Cotric is out of the question, however if you bought Croker as well, I might be happy, then again no I wouldn't.

Fus at fullback at times displayed levels up at Kevin Locke’s peak and maybe 90% Tuivasa Sheck; demonstrating a complete game incl. positioning, metres, high ball handling and goal line defence. Adding the well documented finishing ability, this is a very gifted player.

But there’s more to it than just raw ability, he drops down to half power far to often to be considered true NRL top level. An epic waste.

Fusitua is ours. So I want him to be legendary.

I don't think he will be though.

Why?

Fusitua needs it given to him.

He struggles to create anything on the field.

The only time I have seen him look decent ball in hand is when he has worn the no1 Jersey.

Decent is not dangerous though.

Cotric is a threat at all times.

That's what I want from a winger.

Anyway...back to the thread. Kata and Tevaga should be watched with one hand on the axe tonight.

Looking forward to our live commentary here on our board. Ready to yield our axe!

lol @ the Fus struggled to create angle. Create for himself might be more accurate (even then, not true - I'd call turning 10% or 20% chances into tries with some of those finishes creative)... but that's such a small part of what a winger brings RE value that it's far from terminal in him being a very good player.

Dude has a higher rate of assists (both tries and linebreaks) as a winger than nearly every experienced winger in the NRL (including Cotric). For the sake of detail, it's Rapana #1, Fus/Morris #2.

No, he's not your 'average 4 tackle breaks a game' guy. He's also not a top end speed guy. He's not the guy you want when you're in the middle of the park, he's the guy you want either taking it out of your 20, or into the opposition's 20. And dominant in the air. Use the player you have, not hope he becomes something else.

And he's not a f**king centre. Stop that crap, we've seen him there before. We have how many options at centre that aren't Kaka? Use one of them and keep the extremely good winger on the wing. Don't outsmart yourself - you're probably not that smart.

Good call Zero. We got to smash these Titans.

Got a feeling we could see a late change to the team. Maybe a Perham or a Beale. We will see.

Come on Warriors GET IT DONE!

You raise fair points.

Have to disagree with you though on position. He is a centre.

Just hasn't had a sustained run there. That's all.

Who would you prefer centre - Kata or Fusitua?

Id say like Ken Maumalo the warriors have engineered him into a winger. We wanted more of Vatuvei.

Hopefully, he can take a leaf out of Tupou from the Roosters book.

Both similar players but Tupou looks to be industrious. Seeks out work.

I mean, it's a false binary. I'd rather Fusitua on the wing and any of Ayshford, Beale, Herbert, Pompey or Perham inside him. Fus isn't a good defender at centre, and the position doesn't utilize his skills optimally. He's the best outright finisher in the comp.. why reduce his opportunities to use that skill? Same logic around putting Kata (that's a low bar - let's say any ball hog at centre) inside him... it makes no sense.

And yes, Fus obviously needs to work on little things like workrate and more consistent defensive positioning (tbf, if I were defending outside Kata my mental processing would be a mess, too)... if he did, he'd be a better version of Tupou. Very valuable - he's not far off, either. Consistency more than anything is the issue.

No you're absolutely right jase - Fus is no centre. Well he can play there but you're not going to get the best outta him and hes not going to be as good as some of our centres that we do have. I've seen Fus at centre and it didnt work.

I dissagree, he doesn't run the lines or have the inside out ability to be a centre imho, hes a finisher first, that's his strength, definitely not a centre.

Neither, Prefer Ayshford (although how is that back injury from last year is that what is keeping him out), Beale(although the last few seasons he has been more a bench player) otherwise Herbert (Young, keen but not yet had match time in 1st grade) I would not play Perham who would be out of position considering he is being looked at for five eight

We wanted more of Vatuvei..
I know what you mean, but please god NO...I'm not in the mood to explain why

Come on guys lets stop calling for Ayshford.

No Top 8 team would have this guy lining up for them in the centres.

He represents very poor recruitment by the Warriors. Just NO.

Has got no game time because he doesn't cut it. as simple as that.

From the juniors, Fusituas best position was at fullback and then at centre. He is a player that represents the Warriors idealogy.

'We are going to get you to play another position that you never played in the junior ranks ....... in the NRL'

Ayshford has by good distance outperformed Hiku and Kata in a Warriors jersey, no contest. Beale too.

Great centres? Not particularly, but not the point.

I'd disagree Fus' best position in juniors was at fullback - he was awful there in the 20s just about every time I saw him play fullback... to the point where I was surprised when he got called up to first grade. His decision making was... just bizarre - it was like watching an even worse version of Peta Hiku try to play fullback for the Kiwis in that four nations we won (in part because Australia had lost lots of automatic picks through injury and their selection panel/Tim Sheens shat the bed in a major way when they actually had to make decisions that mattered for once), consistently made the wrong choice in attack.
