not the point, How anyone can comment on the side to play tonight until the official list is released is beyond me. I think this week will be the hardest to predict. At least when wenty play first we can get some idea of changes.

Yep, I agree. And that was my point.

if this story doesnt make you want to turn up on Tuesday than nothing will...

Correct me if I'm wrong Stagger, but in order to attend next weekend's AGM you need to be a League's club member as opposed to a member of the football club?

I particularly like this bit ...

Its true, Parra fans/members want success and if there is none in hte near future, the board are risking their own positions in standing firm on this. So, will they get cold feet at some point?

Personally I think we'll pound the puppies tonight and it'll be all smiles next week, but even then we'll be far from out of the woods.

I think tonight is now or never. If we dont beat the dogs, or at worse get close with a spirited performance, then I think things will finally come to a head. If we produce another display like the first 67 minutes against the Tigers then I think some pressure will be put on the board to act.

Why? A board member has already come out today and said Kearney will see out his contract.
All a loss will do tonight (if) is increase the frustration of us supporters. Understandably as well. I f**king hate watching us lose. I've had a gut full of it tbh. I also think the worst thing we could do atm is get rid of Kearney.
I hope the board sticks tight.

Yeah everything should be fine as long as the board stays the same.

he actualy said they would "honour the contract".
A contract that says if he is sacked he gets a payout, they can still honour the contract and Kearney not be around next year.

I would have thought people would learn from past examples of reading more into statements than the words indicate.

Does this sound like he was keeping his options open?

''I'm not discussing contracts. All I can do is talk generally and say that if we were in a position where we felt our coach wasn't the right man for the job, it wouldn't faze us to pay him out if we had to.

''We believe Stephen Kearney is the right man for the job. We've taken a decision to move in a direction that includes the coach changing the way things are done here, and if we have to have some short-term pain … to experience long-term gain, then so be it.

''We are going to stick with the coach and rely on him to get us out of the situation we're in. We saw an example of what the team is capable of in the last 15 minutes against Wests Tigers, and I think there has been improvement in a lot of areas over the last four weeks.

''I don't think there's any doubt we're good enough to start winning and climb off the bottom of the competition table. The players enjoy being coached by Steve and we've got a good playing roster. Stability breeds success, so sometimes you've got to bite the bullet and hold firm. We won't get the wooden spoon.''

while he did say that, he also said ALOT more this time (than last time when Spags made the honour his contract statement) .... whether Mario is a bit less careful with his comments than Spags and the meaning is the same I don't know

We are going to stick with the coach and rely on him to get us out of the situation we're in.
...
But if things don't improve in the near future it won't become a case of sacking the coach

he also said "we wont get the wooden spoon", what happens if we do?

I would always expect the board to be showing support for the coach and players but wouldn't bet your reputation on it.
