Tony, if we come last I hope he still takes fully responsibility and negotiates a payout at a lower level than what was in his initial contract. He doesn't deserve a full years payout. Then I will respect him.

Well he was asked the question along the lines of 'Does he deserve to keep his job' and he said yes... I spose you can't expect anyone to respond otherwise though.

I have no problem with him saying he doesn't want help ... I think bringing in another coach would end up an unworkable situation anyway - 2 bosses doesn't work, you'd potentially create an even bigger split in the club (those who like one coach, those who like the other)

He's completely out of his depth. How could anyone possibly deny that now??

He will, and has, to go. It will either be sooner or later.

Just watched him on the game plan. The more I listen to him the more I can see that he has no idea. He is still in f**king denial. Now the facts.

1. When they asked him about taking Hindy off for extended periods, he immediately said he played 80 mins last week. In other words he knows he f**ked up there especially with our feeble defence.

2. He sacked Sandow because of his attitude.

3. The board asked him if he needs help, he refused.

4. He reckons he should be retained if we miss the finals.

One thing that infuriated me is that he criticized us for the past 10 or so years. What he needs to f**king realise is that we only missed the semis for 4 seasons before he got here. 2003, 2004, 2008 and 2010. I'm counting since 1997. Not a bad record. However since he got here was have missed them both times and have had the worst start to a season in over half a century. He was also part of the system that robbed us in 2009.

The sooner this goose is f**ked off the better. I cannot wait.

Hard to argue with that. I have nothing against the bloke personally. I am sure he is decent human being, working his arse off but he is just not the right bloke to achieve what he was put there to do. He just does not have the ability or experience required. Even a complete moron understands that you do not employ a rookie to build a club. I said it was a stupid decision then and I still stand by it. We look lost on the paddock and he is like a deer caught in the headlights when interviewed. Coaches are supposed to be strong, intelligent (in a footy sense, at least) characters who speak with authority and conviction. When SK speaks, I cringe.

Stephen Kearney supporters bring up the Hasler at Manly situation when quoting the dreaded "5 year plan". The thing that they always leave out is that Manly improved their play and position on the table every year leading up to that premiership. We are clearly worse this year than we were last year - and we have a stronger squad!! If we need to give him until the end of the season for those making the decisions to FINALLY see this, then so be it. But if we are anchored at the bottom of the table going into the final rounds, surely, I would expect the board to sack him.

As an long time Eels fan, I hope he turns it around. I don't care who the coach is as long as I am confident we will be there at the business end of the season. Anderson proved you just have to MAKE the 8. Anything can happen from there. In the meantime, I will just sit back, with little or no expectations, and wait to see how the rest of the season pans out.

We also have a lot of new players and it's not even halfway through the season.

If we're still shit by the end of the year you might have a point, but right now we're showing flashes of good form. We just need Sandow to gel with the boys.

I think he does have a very good point already, and made it pretty well.

That's pretty much the point there. We should never be moving backwards for two seasons in a row under the coaching of same bloke, end of story.

I agree. I think they just need some time to gel. They've only been together for 7 months, we can't expect miracles.

Especially our edge defence. f**king what's going on there? Trust your inside man you deadshit merkin.

Anyone would think our outside backs were made up of three rookies and Luke Burt FFS.

I'm going to miss Burty; it's been good having him around.

f**k knows who I'm gonna blame next year. I guess I'll think of someone.

If they held this in our leagues club at the end of the season, it'd draw a massive crowd (and a massive donation for charity)...

CRACKER NIGHT

FORMER footy star Jarrod McCracken wants to fight the man who ended his career in a controversial spear tackle in 2000 – Parramatta Eels coach Stephen Kearney. The case ended up in court when McCracken sued for damages. He won and was awarded $97,000. He’s been overheard telling acquaintances he’d like to settle it once and for all in a boxing ring for charity.

If you sue a bloke for injuring you to the point of having to give up footy, isn't boxing a bit of a bad idea?
