No I' don't. He shouldnt mention the player directly in any event. That should be done in private. Management School for idiots: Praise in public, counsel in private. Kearney is demonstrating his inexperience.

I don't think you can blame Fui for little things like that publicly. Regardless it's the little things SK has to fix there's no point blaming a player in the media for making what he calls a minor mistake, if he's unable to get those minor mistakes in players game and on top of that make sure they communicate as a playing group so when that minor mistakes do happen at least regroup so the damage is minimal.

Kearney: Parramatta’s ‘Line In The Sand’

BESEIGED coach Stephen Kearney says his coaching tenure represents “a line in the sand” for the Parramatta club and that players need to find as much patience as fans, sponsors and the media in the weeks and months ahead.

As the Eels head into the bye this weekend with just one win from 10 starts, prompting players to appear before angry members at an AGM and stars like Chris Sandow, Luke Burt and Ben Roberts to be dropped, Kearney acceded to a one-on-one interview with Rugby League Week.
“As a club, this is my opinion, we don’t want to make the same mistakes as we have for the last 10 years,” Kearney said. “We want to draw a line in the sand and we want to change things and the only way we’re going to change things is if we stick at them.”

Asked if those mistakes represented quick-fix solutions, he agreed but gave no more detail. He refused to comment on aborted moves to appoint Jason Taylor as his assistant.

When quizzed where he was drawing strength from, he said: “It’s just the vision that I have, a lot of what I see here, the potential that we have here as a footy club.

“I see the development of Matty Ryan and Mitchell Allgood and Kenny Sio and guys like that. Matthew Keating, Timmy Mannah … for me, we have an opportunity to really build this footy club. That’s what’s keeping me focused.

“I start each week afresh … that’s my approach every week.”
On dropping players, he commented: “Putting Benny Roberts back this week – form dictated I couldn’t keep him in the side. That’s the decision I needed to make. “ Chris Sandow’s performance against Canberra, he said, “was encouraging in that he was touching the footy a lot more, he was running the footy.”

Asked if he feared more change – be it staff, administration, players or losing his own job – would be forced upon him if results did not come, Kearney said: “For me, the change is the change in us – in terms of taking ownership of our responsibilities out on the footy field for 80 minutes. Fui (Fui MoiMoi) takes his eye off the ball (against Canberra) twice by not filling the space at marker and there’s two tries.
“The players need to recognise that to begin with – that’s the ‘moving towards’ action for us. That’s an ‘I don’t know’. That’s a step-by-step process.”

I haven't heard many coaches in my time directly attribute a loss to one player. This merkin is starting to shit me.

He pointed out two lapses that led to two tries. If he blamed him for the loss do you think he would still be in first grade?

He likely singled Fui's mistakes out to illustrate a point, and chose him because he knew it wouldn't upset the player.

Do you really think he only communicates with his players through the media? No wonder you think he's a f**king idiot.

Watching the game again, it was Kearney favourite Matt Keating that actually was out of position and couldnt make the tackle for one of those two tries. But of course Matt Keating is a good trainer and Kearney favourite, so he would never do anything wrong.....

I find it exremely interesting that he does not mention Hayne (the team's best player) and Sandow (who he signed for 4 years) as part of building the footy club! re-affirms the poor relationship he has with these two important players.

The bloke is a neville!

I tend to think he will come good.

He does some good things and looks to be working on a long term solution but its a matter of whether the fans and the FC have the patience to give him a free reign.
