So do you think a man who won a First Grade NRL Premiership, captained his country by age 21, served a coaching apprenticeship under one of the game's great coaches and coached his national side to a unlikely World Cup victory has achieved nothing in the game? Moreover, you think he hasn't earned the right to be highly sought after and respected?
Look, I understand that as a First Grade coach he is still a novice and has no experience. I concede that and you make a valid point. But Stephen Kearney is not some loser nuffy. As I said - he coached the Kiwis to a World Cup (I know many of you think it's no big deal, but credit where it's due - he helped New Zealand to their first ever Cup, and that says something about the man), captained them at age 21 and won a Premiership as a player. This is a man who, at the very least, commands respect. By all means, criticise his coaching - perhaps he deserves criticism. But please do not say he hasn't earned the right to be put on a pedestal. He has achieved a lot in the game already.
According to that logic brad fittler would be the greatest coach ever. The minute u take up the clip board respect has to be earnr as a coach. Not as a assistant or past player. Head coach is a different kettle of fish. People keep harping about the kiwis team but facts are he won 2 trophys when Bennett was in camp & the years he wasn't they didn't even make the final
