Well considering he can play every position in the backline, has speed and is currently doing an awesome job in a position that he is brand new to, I think he will be pretty good. Seems to have a footy brain and the speed and skill to back it up.

I don't think anyone is suggesting he will be the next immortal, but he will be an exceptional first grader for many years to come.

Lets hope you are right ,i think you can put a line through fullback though, he has played well for the past 2 games for sure and he was ok at the Storm , but all the calls on here for him to be a part of our future in the halves , at the moment he looks to be happy just hanging on to the ball , a stratosphere away from guiding the team around.

He's the only FG standard player we have with a bit of speed and evasiveness.

it's crazy Mary hasn't been able to slot him in somewhere, in a backline that's been crying out for speed since Day 1.

What did you see of him at Melbourne that indicated that?

Mann is not a muscle bound oaf like KFFL and Lafai and the bonus is Mann can actually run both quickly and evasively.

Mann attempts to position himself and follow the ball player so that shows he has footy smarts.

Lafai, KFFL are 1 dimensional and fit into our big and beefy mould.

Keary is also like Mann, quick and evasive with smarts, so hopefully the 2 young guys can form a partnership with Aitken getting some of the action as well.

You don't have to be a big back to be effective ala Munster for the Storm, not big but extremely effective due to the sound coaching and development programme.

Mann has been great since coming back into FG. There is a lot to like. When Dugan is back I would seriously put him at centre and Lafai to Cutters for a week. Nighty back to his wing. I would even give Mann a run at FB and put Nighty on the wing for a half to see how he goes.

Isn't this thread about Keary?

Any word if he is coming? Hopefully before June 30.

Agreed on your comments on Mann, and meet him at the Anzac Game and the guy is humble and genuine on 1st impressions. Also Marketo spoke proudly of being a Junior an willing to play anywhere in FG.

Meant to be before June 30, just dealing with the fine tunes now apparently.

Keary and Simms b4 June 30 would be a nice little boost to the squad to make a run thru the back half of the season.

Mmmm :)

That's got nothing to do with it, Keary actually would like to stay at Souths but he missed his opportunity trying to find more $$$, I don't know if he will land at the dragons or the storm. Dragons had Cronk almost locked up but the 3pa fell over and it didn't come to fruition, there's still some things to play out yet involving other clubs and players, you'll end up with someone but I'm not sure who it will be, could be a complete surprise.

Your quite right, I am sure that Mr. Crowe that does not carry a chip on his shoulder, and as you have said the real reason is that Keary was after more $$$. But if he was so happy at the - Pride of the League - why would he test his worth on the open market ? Where ever he goes I am sure that he will be far happier, and as a result , reach his full potential , that was being blunted at Souths .
