I want to keep him playing RUGBY LEAGUE in the NRL,and also one other, and that's the "league of his own" which he's in as far as centers goes.
No further correspondence will be entered into before evidence is received showing success with the frontal labotomy you so desperately need.:D

Jolly good, you watch "league" or "national" or "cup" whatever it is you call it

Paley, so who from the NRL do you reckon will be playing in the 2007 Rugby World Cup?

Interesting Rugged.

What do Super League players play? Is it darts?

It's darts, isn't it?

Huh, what's your point? I thought I was on your side!

It's all because of Poopy-Pants-Paley, that this confusion has arisen. He doesn't seem to think Rugby League is a sport.
I think you should follow English Soccer (football), Paley, then you could follow the fortunes of teams in the FA Cup, because it seems you know Sweet FA about anything. Be off with you ya scurvy-dog before we have you flogged. :BDH:

I am well aware that rugby league exists, I just don't see the point of using 2 words where one will do - especially on a rugby league forum so I just refer to it as rugby and the slow code (32 minutes of play in a 101 minute game) as union.

That's pathetic, If you don't know that Rugby, on its own, refers to RU, you do need that labotomy. That'll do me. ](*,)

Since when has Rugby referred to Rugby Union ?????????????????????????

If you don't already know, there are many forms of Rugby on the planet.
Touch Rugby, Sevens, Nines, Beach, League and Union etc etc. To just used the term Rugby for one form of the game is incorrect and there are alot of you out there that get it wrong. Rugby should be used as a prefix word to describe a form that you wish to discuss.

If you are going to refer to Rugby use League or Union, better still use Rugby League and Rugby Union. It would easier for everyone to understand what you are on about. Paley is just correcting you.

Well, depends how you use it Preach.

Rugby League and Rugby Union are both versions of Rugby Football.

It is more common to associate "Rugby" with the Rugby Union version, but both are actually forms of rugby. Obviously.

Still, the way Paley used it was wrong and completely self-contradictory.

Nope.

There are many types of football in the world (Association, Rugby, American, Australian, Gaelic). That still doesn't mean that generally "football" refers to Association Football (soccer) first and foremost.

Rugby used on its own, has referred to Union in Australia for the 47 years I've been around. If Paley would have stipulated what he meant from the start, Union or League, this thread would have been about 25 posts shorter. If you have a look at the posts I've made on this thread there is no doubt which code I was referring to at any time.
By the way, f**k Touch, Sevens, Nines and Beach. They are the bastard children of major codes.

In the 40 years I've been in Australia, its alway been League or Union or Rugby League or Rugby union or footy. Take you pick but to use the word Rugby for union is wrong.

As for the other bastard children, they may be bastards but they are popular.

As I said KB, I left no doubt as to which code I was referring to, and I don't believe using "Rugby" as a term describing Union is wrong, I believe it is quite acceptable to the footballing populous.
I don't know if you've just jumped out of Paley's pocket to champion his cause, but he seems to have gone quiet all of a sudden.:-#

No, I speak for myself.

Footballing populous? Which populous would that be ? Union/League/Soccer. This gives me the impression that you must know millions of people.

Most of the people I know describe the names as I have listing in prior posts. Using Rugby for union is not done where I am. That's all.

I'll let Paley speak for himself.
