It's more a case of which will give them the bigger crowd next weekend, not at any time in the past.

At the end of the day, Swans vs Essendon will make more dosh than the Bulldogs game.

And really that's all management care about.

They're a business, they don't do favours.

Consider that (apparently) because the Swans won they won't be playing in Sydney next weekend i'm guessing the Bulldogs game would of got more money for Stadium Australia.

Unfortunately for Stadium Australia it's probably to late for the Bulldogs to change their plans and play there.

No money for Stadium Australia this weekend ;-)

but that was always a possibility - kick out a definate tennant for a probably tennant who offered more money *if* they played there next week

i dont know what the swans average was... but i do know their absolute lowest crowd would have been around 16,000. you mind telling me what team you go for? i'll put money on the fact that they dont have as much support as the swans, or any other AFL team for that matter

9 league teams in sydney, 1 AFL team who are currently riding a wave of success. It wont happen every year.

I am sick to f**kin death of people pulling the TV ratings thing out of their asses. Just because two games a weekend rate ok, doesn't mean the game as a whole is in great nic. Just go up to Brisbane and you'll realise the inroads the ping pongers have made in that once hardcore league city.

Thanks for showing the world you really can't read.... Try throwing your eyes over my location for a few seconds... Also being the expert that you are can you please tell me the percentage that NRL games crowds and ratings have dropped by up here in QLD? What's that? They haven't? Well there goes your argument.... Yes the AFL is starting to be popular up here but considering they have won two years in a row and everyone who watches it is from Melbourne and wouldn't go to the NRL either way... Where is the issue?

Mate I can remember when a Broncos game would be in the top 5 programs just about everytime they played on a friday night or sunday. The ratings are still strong, but they have dropped and cross the board coverage of AFL has taken some of the market. I'm just pissed off the Crushers never fully establised themselves. The Lions have now taken all those corporate dollars that were on offer.
