Good to see the description of "Star" used in this article, correctly for once.

I mean Kenny f**king Edwards is probably the biggest name going around..........

"He's got form....."

Being pedantic, but in todays society probably not the phrasing to use. I get what you mean, he's acted like a muppet in the past, but he certainly has not got form for DV.

Anyway I hope blokes start taking chicks to court when they throw drinks on them in a bar...can't say I approve of Kenny dousing her in lolly water but it's hardly worth a court visit surely

Yeah.. Based on responses elsewhere I thought I was the only one who didn't think pouring a drink on someone was "lock him up and throw away the key" worthy.

If it's technically assault then so be it, sit him down for a couple of months and force him to do some anger management counselling, keep an eye on him in future. But dead set it's nothing life ban worthy. About on par with calling up a scumbag gossip journo and giving her a spray.

Relationships can be highly charged and a lot of people aren't emotionally equipped to deal with it at times. Things like this can happen. Demonising people over relatively minor incidents achieves nothing... except showing everyone else on the internet what a great guy you are and how much you totally respect women.

He's been stood down, seems he won't be named for round 1.

Honestly, that seems sufficient penalty in my opinion. The NRL will probably wait and see if an article from Clementine Ford and/or Van Badham and/or the bloke in the red bandana appears in the media, if it doesn't they'll probably just give him a week or two. If Clemmy gets hold of it and spins it as only she can, maybe 4 but absolutely no more than that.

I would hope that would be the outcome. Peni Terepo got three weeks for driving offences in NZ....I think similar would be fair given it's not his first f**k up.

How did he escape jail time?
As a proud member of the Kruiser Krew I am appaled that he's wasting liquid gold by pouring it on his missus. I could cop Pineapple or Guava but wasting Raspberry is a no go.

Mate, you'll want to watch your mouth with that Guava bashing bullshit.

The Parramatta Eels have released a statement from Chief Executive Officer, Bernie Gurr, regarding Kenny Edwards:

Following today's guilty plea, Kenny Edwards has been stood down indefinitely from all duties with the Parramatta National Rugby League Club Pty Limited.

In the interests of clarity, Kenny has pleaded guilty to splashing liquid on his former partner.

Our Club has repeatedly stated that we will respect the legal process relating to Kenny's charges. Now that this stage of the legal process has been completed, the Club will have immediate discussions with the NRL Integrity Unit on the next steps required.

The Club will continue to provide welfare services to Kenny and his family through this difficult period.

Throw the book at him. The streets will only be safe again once all the pedophiles, murderers and liquid splashers are locked up in supermax.

An intimidation charge against Edwards was dropped and no conviction was recorded but an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) was put in place.

The AVO was dismissed. His ex said she didn't need it, she didn't feel threatened.
