Who should kick?
Well heres a theory.
Noddys goal kicking chewed up 9 minutes of game time last night.
How about, he just takes the ones from in front(thats 7 minutes left last night) & on the wide ones, we just kick it towards the line, like we used to do in the U7b3's playing full field.
that would have left us 7 more minutes game time to possibly score more tries?

Still waiting for suggestions? You want to get rid of an ok kicker but you have no idea who to put in his place. If you get rid of Kimmorley you might as well use your idea of "kick it towards the line, like we used to do in the U7b3's playing full field". Maybe use Peachey as kicker? Or Stevens? . No, we cant use Peachey though because he's dropped as many people said he should be before the storm game. So Stevens it is....

Well that is the question Richo.
Noddy does his best, but if he is our best, we need to source a better kicker.
It is not because it is Noddy.
I presume Noddy is the best at our club cause he does it, but he is not that good at it.
I would be happy to give Merritt a go, anyone willing really, and if they keep failiing give it back to BK and put a goal kicker on the shopping/nuturing list.

How the hell would anyone here know who can kick?
Fact is, nobody has been tried.
It's only goal kicking, it's not rocket science. Well, I guess, it is in way, but, I digress.
Surely in a squad of 25 we have at least one other who kick the f**king ball between the sticks.
I reckon I could kick at 64% when I'm full of pizz.

"Once for us & the other for country."

Kimmorley has kicked well 4 out of 5 last matches, against Raiders, Eels, Dragons and City. Forget his form last year or before he got real help. With help his kicking is good and far better than any other player we have who could even be regarded as a kicker. You say yourself reefy that he kicked good for country, so than you know he can kick, and because he kicked poorly in one game, a game played one day after a Rep match, which involved travelling from Gosford - to Sydney - to Melbourne, to play cold conditions than usually experienced and against a team with a crowd extremely vocal for obvious reasons. Even with all these factors not considered it was a only one bad game. I guarrantee that he will kick alot better against the roosters this week.

Did Merrit kick in PL? I dont remember him even kicking for them, hes not first choice for them but he should be for 1st grade. Im a believer that if Kimmorley has a shocker this week than change him.

how can you guarrantee kimmorley is going to kick a lot better against the roosters? because looking at this years goal kicking attempts, i think its safe to say that kimmorley is a shocking goal kicker.

I believe that Mcgoldrick can kick. I know he was kicking in PL last time he was with the club and was ok too. Whether he continued to goalkick whilst playin union is something I dont know.

One of the things with ElMasris kicking percentage is practice. I can guarentee you he spends more time practicing goal kicking than Noddy does at training. A lot more. ElMasri is a winger. Noddy is the halfback and Captain of the side, this means he has alot more on his plate at training than ElMasri does, and half the other kickers in the comp.

I remember reading somewhere that Jony Wilkinson was such a good goalkicker cause he was OBSESSED. He even practiced three hours in the rain last Christmas Day. In England. In winter. Although there is no reports of Hazem doin that, I believe he does ALOT of practice on his own time.....

Franze can kick. Sully can kick. Bird can kick. Merritt can kick.

I don't know if any of them will be more consistant than Noddy but I'd like them to be practicing.

newman, I also have heard he was a good kicker (Jonny Wilkinson) cause he was obsessed. I think he has something like a disease which makes him want to be perfect in everything he does, like kicking.

Now I know why he's in the team, it's his goal kicking talent.

if Bird gets back into the team I'd say he should be kicker. Other than him I don't know of any others in the team who are decent. Dally was a gem of a kicker but by the looks of it he is gooorrn

Ok, let's have a look at the Bulldogs. Reefy asserts they can thank their flatteringly high position on the ladder to El Masri's goalkicking.

Rd1 they flog the Eels 48-14
Pretty sure goalkicking wasn't the difference that night.

Rd2 24-20 over us. Kimmorley kicks 4-5. El Masri lands them all. Point Reefy.

Rd3 Flogged 35 blot by the Evil Rooters

Rd4 Bye

Rd5 28-26 over Eagles. Another point Reefy

Rd6 Def Warriors 24-18. Goalkicking important, but hardly the diff

Rd7 34 - 8 over the Pride Of The League. No difference

Rd8 Defeated Broncos 25-18. As with Warriors, goalkicking important but not the deciding factor.

Rd 9 Flogged 32-6 by the Knights.

I don't have access to exact stats of how many El Masri has kicked, but let's say it's 30 (based on points scored by Dogs divided by by 6 and multiplied by 2)

If he's kicking 90% then that means he has had 33 shots.
At Kimmorley's rate of approx 75% he would have kicked 25 of thos goals.

That's a F/A deifference of only 10 points.
Not really a make or break stat.

if you's get Matty Rogers back next year, your goal kicking problems will be solved 8)

i'm not a fan of Kimmorley, and i know he has some dead set shitters with the boot, however when he is on fire, he's on fire. Its a shame he isn't a bit more consistent with his form, cause he is capable of slotting them over from all over the park.
