Did I hear El Masri was 27/30 this year?
I'm sure I heard he's missed 3 kicks anyway.
Whether the commentator telling the story had his facts right or not I dont know but assuming he has taken all of the Dogs kicks he has only missed 2 conversions.

Any comparison based purely on kicks v attempts is meaningless. While El Masri is definitely a better kicker, I'll bet that the Dogs score a few more of their tries closer to the posts than we do.

Noddy missed four goals last weekend, but three of them were from six blades of grass away from the touchline. And they didn't miss by much...

The difference DJL, will be when the team needs 2 points to get into the 8 or 2 points to be positioned in the 8. They look back through the season & say, geez, we coulda won that one.
That is when an 85% kicker will count.
They will get the pressure kicks from the sideline when it matters.
A 64% kicker is on a wing and a prayer in that situation.

Yeah well I wasn't sure if he we had an 85% kicker, I would settle for 75% however.
Perhaps you can fill us in, on the kicking percentages of the other kickers at the club?

We all have a rough idea of who can kick goals but know one knows the percentages at which they kick besides kimmorely. The others that have had a go have not kicked often enough to get an accurate gauage on how well they kick.

Kimmorley is inconsistent but I am happy to run with kimmorley at the moment cause no better options have been proved to me. If kimmorley's kicking continues like last week though lets hope he is gracious enough to give it up because it will eventually start affecting the final result of matches.

"At Kimmorley's rate of approx 75%"

Well Reefy you should be happy with kimmorley then as he forfills your requirement of 75%. And no I dont know any other percentages, one thing is for sure however and thats that we have had many people attempt to kick in First grade and Premier league yet none are successful enough to become a permanet solution. If we had a better kicker do you think Raper would keep Kimmorley kicking if he wasnt kicking that well? Kicking for Kimmorley is an extra, one which Im sure if someone else could do they would offload off the captain, but they dont have anyone betta to do so!

Yeah I would be happy except that stat is wrong.
He is 26 from 39. That is 67%.
But that is slightly worse than his career average of 67.9%
But better than last years 64%

Kicking is a huge problem that I did not realise had been with the Sharks for a while. Our best kicker for the last 20 years is actually Jason Ferris who hit the magice 75% mark with 45 from 63

You're probably right. When was ET's other kick?

As for Ferris, well I guess you're so rarely wrong on any subject be it politics or football that we don't even bother to check the validity of your stats. :|

I daresay you're correct blacktip. Dredged up the stats and he got 1 from 2.

Well done. I mustn't have been paying attention, I don't normally forget these things..

It was the same game, ET had another shot from a wider position and missed it. He's 1 from 2.

Garbo f*cks up again...

Point taken Reefy.

It is definitely a problem, but I just don't see it as being the major burning issue at the club at the moment.

Fair enough he missed a few last week, but the first two were from the sidelines and missed by a whisker. The third was ordinary, no argument, and I missed the next one he missed so no idea. Could easily have been 6/8, or that magical 75% :)

I think it's fair to say he's improved over the last month or so.
