As an aussie, I was very surprised with the amount of early arvo matches. It is something that would never happen in Aus.
Evening games tend to be a good night out as far as entertainment goes, but the footy is so much better during the day. Well done everyone.

Funny that a certain magazine editor (or writer?) is harping on about the large amount of 8pm kick offs, saying that it won't make it in the next day's newspapers.

I just found the contrast so funny, and typical of rugby league. Half full vs half empty.

It's going to be the best mother f**king rugby league world cup ever! Let's stick with that notion and tell everyone in the world! I know I've been telling everyone i talk to, and their first reaction is "does rugby league have a world cup?"

Isn't this the truth, I can't believe how may so-called RL fans are so blinkered or ignorant in their knowledge of the game. I'm always educating staff at the club I work at about where the game is being played around the world.

But Australia is an ignorant nation.
Australians really do tend not to search for information, regardless of the topic - politics, sport, etc... Perhaps its just laziness.
My dad has followed rugby league for 50 years, yet i had to tell him that Tonga was playing Samoa on tv last weekend. Fair enough he doesn't have foxtel, but he listens to the radio and reads the newspaper.
Unfortunately for us emotionally involved International RL followers, the commentators, journalists, execs with the greatest opportunities don't have the same passion.

So the World Cup final will be played in the daylight (and hopefully glorious sunshine!). Magnificent. Excellent.

its on the 30th nov......could very well be snowing

That's the day before my wedding. Will have a bunch of yorkshiremen staying with me as the bride to be is from Leeds. Gonna be a big one. Oh how I hope it's Aus v Eng.

Serious question. Does it snow often in Manchester?

Yet they can get FA Cup or Champions League reports in the following day for matches that go to extra time and penalties.

I'm sure it stems primarily from the weak international scene. If teams from France, Scotland, the USA regularly toured Australia and played competitive games against the Kangaroos it wouldn't go unnoticed.

Congrats on the wedding. A world cup victory the day before would only make things sweeter! :D

Assuming someone picks up broadcast rights in the U.S. or there is an illegal streaming option, I was happy to see USA's kickoff times. Two games at 3pm Eastern and one at 9am Eastern. Neither interfere with work.

Thanks. I had created an account under my real name (force of habit) and then I noticed nobody else did that, so... 80MinuteMan was born.
