I would of thought that it was pretty clear he is not trying to claim the sound/riff etc as his own, in fact he mentions the song by title throughout the song.

To be honest it sounds good, its catch and people sing along, f**k me music snobs sh*t me, just enjoy it, or don't listen.

It's a horrible horrible song.. As per usual though, such sh*te will be rewarded with high chart success and massive over saturation air time by commerical radio..

Makes me remember why i only listen to JJJ when listening to the radio..

Agreed ... and I rarely listen to the radio anyway.

brooksy... what about the fact he rhymes 'things' with 'things'? Or the fact his voice sounds worse than Dirk Diggler's did when he was recording "You Got The Touch"? It is offensive to not just music snobs, but anyone with functioning ears.

Fun, catchy song imo. f**k me, it's not as if you'd expect him to release an epic like 'november rain' or some sh*t did yas??

That's right, but given the fact that Kid Rock doesn't have the ability to release make such an epic, why waste time listening to him?

Holy sh*t, I didn't realize he had ripped off 2 songs!

I knew Sweet Home Alabama, but that other one has exact same tune! Piss Poor.

It's a money puller of a song, nothing more...FFS, i have to put up with commy radio every bloody working day. 2dayfm, mix, mmm, ect...It's the kind of stuff that grows on you after 30 listenings and if it gets me through the day faster, it's ok with me...

Dave Grohl once said, "never cover a song by a band that is better than yours"...Not only has kid rock done this, but the fella has doubled it. Perfect example...

The real poll question should have been is "does this song suck" yes or hell yes.

Well, according to wiki

"Lynyrd Skynyrd's Billy Powell plays the piano on the track. The song includes performances referencing the melody of Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London," Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama," and The Steve Miller Band "Take the Money and Run." It does not use samples."

Meh I like it.

I don't like him as an artist but I'm with MC in that it's catchy.

It's catchy... who cares? He actually credits the song "Sweet Home Alabama" in the lyrics and all artists using these melodies must get permission. Why do you think the company credited with "Kookaburra sits on the old gumwire" wants to sue Men at Work for the melody being use in "Land Down Under"?

Songs are always going to be re-made or the melodies used in the future... fact of life. Suck it up.
