There mustn't be any anti-tampering laws between the ESL and the NRL. Hope they have heaps of money because it would cost them a heap to buy out Kimmorley's contract. Might be enough to pay out Anderson if matters got to that stage. I dont think the club would release Kimmorley though.

Why would they let him go? I think he signed a 5 year deal didnt he.

The fans would tear down the grand stands!!!!!!

Stranger things have happened

Why would they let Preston go?? I believe that IF Kimmorley wanted to leave that the club would allow him. When he signed a 5 year contract, that would have been with the knowledge of the Coach signing for 3 with a 2 year option if the set criteria had been met (I could have done the same job myself). In my opinion, BK would have reasonably assumed that in his 5 year deal he would be playing his football under his favourite Coach.

If Anderson IS sacked, I think Kimmorley will leave the Club. How can he stay at a club thats sacks his mentoring Coach?? He can't. Just to throw a new spin on the situation, I was told that CA will be taking a position on the Canterbury Board on his return from the Roo tour. Can't confirm the accuracy, just a rumor like all the rest.

At the end of the day, regardless which way this debacle turns out, guess who the losers are?? The same Club who has never won a Premiership and the wonderful supporters who love the club dearly. Geez I have had a gutful of this rubbish.

Honestly, if Kimmorley and Ando are going to cause controversy in the club, I dont want them. Rack off Ando and Kimmorley, and put Sully in the halves with Bird and Raper as coach, see how we go. As much as I like Kimmorley (and as much as I tolerate Ando), I am sick of everyone taking potshots at our club, and I would like to see us put the juniours into the demanding positions more often.

Be gone with him then, if he doesn't have the commitment to the club.

Aitken will have the opportunity to shine, plus we have Bird, Sullivan, Dallalana etc. And Peachey can reassume his role as captain.

He's under contract and won't leave. As I've said before, if we give Ando his year, and we miss the eight again, will we keep him because of what Noddy might do? Hell no, we'll fire Ando and tell BK he's under contract, and he better play. This is of course assuming Ando is still around by December.

Ahh people LOL

I'll preface this by saying I don't care if he does go but the story and the thread by our resident opportunist reefy conjures mixed emotions. In the interest of fair play and a level playing field in the discussion I'd remind peeps that

Firstly, it's the week before a test match in the UK vs GB. There is never a Kangaroo tour gone by when there hasn't been a story of some UK club making a play for the playmaker. I've been witing for this one, it was only a matter of time. Predictably, it comes just before the test, when they know it will be unsettling in a year when the chooms have a real chance of winning.

Secondly, unless the board at Cronulla change BEFORE he asks for a release he won't get one. They'll dig their heels in as usual, wait till his form suiffers, wait till the team suffers and wait till June 30th or near to it when a replacement can be snavelled. There are no suitable replacements available at this time, only the nuffies we already have.

Thirdly it was written in Australia, second hand, by Danny Weidler's little brother Steve Mascord of the Herald.

This is the time to sit back and watch and wait, not sit there, get all upset and start bagging him before it happens.

BTW November 3rd is the Sharks first training session of the year - my tip is that not much training is gonna be done but a lot of heated words are gonna be exchanged. :)

I was taken aback by the thread topic. But then when I read who posted it, it didn't surprise me at all. Nothing positive for the Sharks there. :( Never is when this bloke posts. :D

Wales coach Neil Kelly will approach Kangaroo halfback Brett Kimmorley after the international match tonight about the possibility of his joining British club Widnes next season should the Sharks axe Chris Anderson.
In other words, not a single f**king word has been spoken.

Neil Kelly should F*** OFF.

And BTR I notice youre rubbing your hands with glee - exactly who do you suppose would replace BK in our team and be anywhere near his standard?

He doesn't care, just so long as he can put sh!t on Ando.

I heard some positive news though. Seems we may have another centre.

Hey, I made no inference other than the fact I went to a few games with Neil a few years ago. He actually stayed in Cronulla.
Actually learnt a lot about how it all works & that means I know about 5% of how it all works.
For what it's worth, I think he signed 1 player from the games we went to & that was the one he wanted. He left the NRL early for a lot of cash, was a good kicker & a good player.
Another thing we spoke about was the type of player that would be good. My opinion was not to take a family style man with wife & kids as they would contribute to keeping the player unsettled, for any amount of obvious reasons.
He said the opposite, that is mainly all he wants.
This news is fair dinkum by the way. They had signed Ferris who renneged because he got a coaching deal somewhere. They are without a half back & are slipping down to relegation standards. They just got a new prop.
