Big question mark for me is a replacement half for Hunt. That’s a pretty significant missing piece of the puzzle. I can’t really imagine K Flanno and Gutho in the halves so I’m going to hold off on any excitement about the signing until I know that’s not the plan. As for Lodge - in terms of culture, he would bring the opposite of every other signing that we’ve made. I can’t see how that adds up. FWIW, I would have a hard time cheering for Lodge. As I do for JDB. As I did for Packer. Just my perspective

I for one, am willing to forego missing Hunt at half, and build a team around real footy professionals who don't dish out on their Club.

We are not going to win anything with our current roster, but we may build to something if Flanno gets the right people in. We were never going to win anything with an overpaid hooker playing at half.

Yeah I’m ok with it, particularly for the first two years.
He’s a leader which we’ve lacked for years & his efforts can never be questioned along with being brilliant on the captain challenges & appears to know the rules better than some refs.

The argument so far has been that he has not been getting his share of the ball bcs Hunt is a hog. He did play well when Hunt was away on SOO. We will see.

Yeah he’s not a top tier half but I don’t think he’s “trash” This season he played well for 80% of his games, he was dogshit a few times but was more consistent than most.
I am genuinely intrigued to see how he plays without (c) hunt sulking around the pitch next to him. You may be right, he may fall apart but I don’t think so, I reckon he will go good.

I saw an interview with Paul Gallen maybe two years ago where he said he made $15m out of his post-NRL boxing career. As a boxing fan, I was gobsmacked. These footballers are utterly rubbish boxers. Still, the public wants what it wants.

Just on his side of the contract, $15m is 150,000 people paying $100 to watch him on cable or whatever. Is that possible? Maybe.

I dont Lodge has a big name though in terms of selling fights.. he might get a few haters for his past incidents.. might sell some PPV's, but hes not hated like Gallen was.

But if Lodge doesnt win his first fight, his career is probably over before it began.
