i dont think they can add $bw unless a player withdraws. i think the whole point of the squad was that its there for the tournament and you cant add to it. i think there is some contingency regarding asada though

The squad aren't final until the day before the tournament starts.

The kiwis manager said in NZ radio that they have to hand in the final squad list in to the tournament organisers by a certain time the day before so they can chop and change who they like until then...

Who's heart do we break? Harris? Taylor?

There's no doubt we have to take him. All I really care about is winning this WC, so I have to admit I'm not really worried about the feelings of a youngster who will have plenty of chances in the future. I know it's heartless but the greater good of RL in NZ is more important to me.

I'd only play him in the semi/final. Give his body the break he needs for a few weeks and then unleash him on the Aussies/poms.

interesting statement by the NZRL....saying that SBW inclusion requires "ratification by the RLWC organisers"....

no it does'nt.....it requires the NZRL to man up and cut a player from their squad....plain & simple....

Can't disagree with you there...

I'm guessing the NZRL is banking on RLWC organises making an exception because of the extra attention he brings...

The whole thing is just a joke...

The douchey thing the kiwis could do is release Tohu Harris... Because if they release FPN or Sam Moa they could come back and hurt them in the tournament.

^Plus Tohu's a rookie and will have many chances in the future to represent the Kiwis.

I gotta admit I did join twitter on Sunday before the GF and bombard SBW with tweets requesting he play in the RLWC. Maybe I got to him lol.

The logical choice would be Harris you would think but it's a crap way to go about things

hahahaha, he actually used to tweet all the time and then completely disappeared for over a month until after the Grand Final.

I think we can safely say that Bobby Diggs convinced SBW to play.

imo Harris is ahead of FPN, Taylor, maybe Eastwood as far as back-rowers go...only difference is maybe they're looking to use Taylor as a hooker or FPN/Eastwood as props while only seeing Harris as a back-rower...but he is versatile in his own right.

As noted the most puzzling selection is Locke- we have multiple back-up fullback options including one (RTS) who is really a fullback playing wing and probably a future star in that position, yet we need ANOTHER specialist fullback in a 24 man squad? A guy who provides relatively little added value covering other positions and has at no point in his career been a first choice selection for the Kiwis? It's a weird one.
