looks like benji is bogging off to union...

i reckon the kiwis will look better ,solid and more structured with a foran/johnson "pairing" who'll work as a partnership rather than having a #7 whos sole job is to catch the ball and pass it to benji for him to dance, side step and run around like a headless chicken running his players out of plays...

benji going is a blessing....trust me

I agree. Even if Benji stays around I'd have him in the reserves after Johnson and Foran.

The Kiwi squad looks strong at the moment. Some regulars look like missing out. I'd have:

1. Josh Hoffman
2. Sam Perrett
3. Krisnan Inu
4. Shaun Kenny-Dowell
5. Jason Nightingale
6. Keiran Foran
7. Shaun Johnson
8. Jesse Bromwich
9. Isaac Luke
10. Ben Matulino
11. Sonny-Bill Williams
12. Simon Mannering
13. Jeremy Smith

14. Alex Glenn
15. Frank Pritchard
16. Jared Waerea-Hargreaves
17. Greg Eastwood

Kevin Locke
Manu Vatuvei
Thomas Leuluai
Frank-Paul Nuuasala
Sam McKendry
Tohu Harris
Kevin Proctor

And then there's plenty of back-ups: Beale, Whare, Winterstein, Tuivasa-Sheck, Goodwin, Kasiano, Rapira, Blair, Taumololo, Harrison, Brown, Packer, Taylor

Quite sad that we will never see benji and sbw in a kiwi team together.
Also quite sad that in all of the press about benji leaving the sport nothing has been mentioned about him missing the World Cup at the end of the year.

As for sbw, I havnt heard anything from him that he has committed to playing for the kiwis yet, he would bring a lot of press to the tournament especially in France.

Wouldn't Benji still be eligible for the Kiwis team?

As for Sonny Bill, you would hope so. If he won the World Cup he would become the first player to win world cups in both codes. It would make him one of the highest achievers ever in rugby.

I think benji will be taking up a short term union contract overseas, or if he switched to super 15 surely they will want him for the off season.

SBW will be there - unless injured. I cant see him passing up the opportunity to win a WC. It doesn't come around every year.

Benji carved up yesterday. Best game in a long time.
His running game was ridiculously good.
Kiwis would be silly not to have him in the squad, potentially on the bench as impact player.

Kiwis would be idiots to have him there. Leaving our sport and is in awful form. He played one good game in the centres - against the 14th placed NRL team.

His only impact coming off the bench would be bad. Would mess up the halves and he isn't a hooker. Leuluai should be the utility in the squad.

As silly as this sounds, I think it's sort of unfortunate that Hoffman has played so well for the Kiwis that he's almost undroppable, because I reckon RTS is much the better player.

I know you could play RTS on the right wing, but then what about Nightingale? Or Perrett?

Also, has Vatuvei played his way out of the side after almost playing his way in mid-season? And do we leave out Vatuvei to play one of our good right wingers (we have at least 3) on the left?

I think rts has to be picked before Hoffman. He is a gun and is playing too well to leave out. Plus he is actually a kiwi. ;)

I agree entirely.

However on Hoffman's Kiwi-ness, yeah he's an Aussie, but I sort of give him a pass as it was a pretty big call he made to commit himself to NZ, must feel a strong affiliation to us.

....or maybe he's just a born cynic/realist and didn't think he would ever make Queensland. I would've thought he was close enough though that he would've tried.
