They're only taking a 22 man squad to the UK...and they're playing against Cook Islands & Aussie before the tournament begins!!??

It has to be a 25 man squad surely!?...That's what they took in 09.

1. Locke
3. Beale

Thougts?

Well Locke will definitely be fullback that's for sure.

That right centre position is up in the air though, Beale could be an option. Inu could also be in the running depending how he goes over the next 1-2 weeks. I think there's no question about 1. Locke, 2. Nightingale, 4. Matai, 5. Vatuvei.

Both Locke and Beale to make it - Locke starts at 1, and Beale - well, he can cover a variety of positions. Maybe he starts at centre, but Matai still gets the nod for me.

Inu didn't make the ANZAC team when he was in good form earlier this year. Beale can play centre for us. Toss up between him and Sau.

Beale has been in fine form and shown he can master most outside back positions. I'd definately want him in.

With everyone fit and firing, you would have to go with:

1. Locke
2. Nightingale
3. Kenny-Dowall
4. Matai
5. Vatuvei
6. Marshall
7. Foran
8. Rapira
9. Heremaia (ahead of Fien on form)
10. Asotasi
11. Blair
12. Mannering
13. Smith

14. Luke
15. Pritchard
16. Matulino
17. Moimoi

Reserves: Hargreaves (prop), Harrison (backrow), McKendry (prop), Perrett (wing), Hohaia (fullback/utility), Sa'u (centre), Fien (hooker/utility), Glenn (utility forward), Beale (utility back), Nuuausala (backrow), Packer (prop), Manu (backrow), Duffie (wing), Proctor (backrow), Bromwich (prop)

Although Inu and Brown are good players, they had hard times cracking the first grade team at points throughout this year, and hence are probably behind the aforementioned players.

Then, you can strike out Kenny-Dowall, Sa'u, Nuuausala and Asotasi as they are not considered due to injury, and replace them as per required. Personally, I would keep Mannering in the forwards, and replace SKD with a like-for-like centre.

1. Locke
2. Nightingale
3. Beale (SKD/Sa'u injured)
4. Matai
5. Vatuvei
6. Marshall
7. Foran
8. Rapira
9. Heremaia
10. Hargreaves/McKendry/Packer/Manu/Bromwich (Asotasi injured)
11. Blair
12. Mannering
13. Smith

14. Luke
15. Pritchard
16. Matulino
17. Moimoi

Surely Rangi Chase will be named for the first test???
Foran, Heremaia will most likely be unavailable as still in finals footy.
As will Thomas Leulauai with Wigan.

even if kiwi named fien at halfback or bench hooker.
Chase will fill the other spot surely/

NZRL will have to name a whole heap of players you would think.
They would name only players who have already been eliminated from finals football for the cook island test.

So that would mean no warriors/storm/manly/broncos players.
Or do they wait one more week and take players from those that have been eliminated.

The Newcastle test is 2 weeks after the grand final isn't it? So the 4 teams that are still in the finals can and will be in the squad for that test.
