Yes when are they naming the squad!!

As for David Kidwell never liked the bloke and ill second what Skinner said as in guys like him are liabilities.

We can do without him in the Black and White jersey.

What's everyone's thoughts on Kidwell?

For mine, I think his head is bigger than his one hit wonder. How selfish was he thinking that he could come back from a long lay off and reasonably contribute for his team in semis football. I feel sorry for the bloke that was match fit and would've made a better effort than what Kidwell did, but obviously had to make way. Kidwell's own assessment of the game was the he was under prepared in terms of match fitness and had heavy legs.

I'd easily bypass Kidwell for the upcoming series. I've never really considered that he contributes significantly to the team. Unless of course he has a presence like Ruben Thorne.

His post injury comment really didn't do his credibility any favours:

"So you would've been gutted that your injury has put you out the test?"

"Yeah, but not as gutted as Bluey was!"

And it's noted that Bluey suggested otherwise.

Agree

Don't rate him, not just because he's hotheaded but because he's just not very talented or skilled.

unit....guys like that are liabilities.

Those who suggested he should be Kiwi Captain........wrong, very wrong....

a hot head and a very lose unit - perhaps on the field but in real life he one of the nicest guys and also one who has lots of mana with the kiwi players.
Remember with Wiki, Jone, Vagana gone plus alot of injuries mean there will be a rather inexperienced team - its needs all the leadership and experience they can get. And I'd rather have him as opposed to Tony puletua or bringing back some pommy based guys.

Prior to his injury he had been in very good form - and his injury is the only thing which will count against him. It would hard for kemble to leave him out of the squad otherwise.

He doesnt need a (C) next to his name to be a leader - both him and sonny will assume leadership roles whether they are formal or informal.

Liability - well its could be argued we have a lot of those - anderson, matai, and definately lauaki. But matai and lauaki will most likely be picked.

You guys dont rate him - interesting. If a fully fit kidwell a' la at the start of the year was available - who would you have in the backrow/bench instead???

I like Kidwell, mostly because of the passion and pride he brings to the table. He seems like someone who fully takes any loss in the black jumper to heart, something that is lacking with some other players. However, with the quality and immense skill available in the eligable Kiwi forwards, being passionate alone is nowhere near enough to make the cut.

For the test in October i'd give a few of the Rookies a go.

Perret,Inu,Stanley,Matai,Tuiaki,Chase,Roberts,Cayless,Luke,Asotasi,SBW,Pritchard,Eastwood.

Faiumu,Rapira,Blair,Mannering.

I have a feeling selectors will have hot head Kidwell in there.

Just for the record thats not the team i think WILL be picked, but a team Id like to see.

I just cant see them blooding too many rookies - even if their form and talent might warrant being included in a tour squad.

Thats looks pretty much what the team will be??

For my team I would:
I would have jeremy smith(melb) in before Eastwood and moimoi or harrison in before blair.
And Also Hape in the centres - with Inu going to wing in place of nightingale.

Has blair hasnt been playing FG the past couple of weeks??only played 8 or 9 games this year?? though pretty hard to crack the storm side.

Nightingale has had a good debut year and looks pretty solid - but doesnt warrant test selection. I even think they'll go with covell before nightingale. Though he garunteed for the squad.

I like Daniela from Panthers but he hasnt got enough FG action???

Is there a Junior Kiwi's side being picked also.

If so the first player picked should be Sam McKendry, the guy is a deadset machine.

Not sure what's happening with the JKs, but you're dead right, Sam is a gun. I'm
pleased he doing well with you guys.

IMO he should play First Grade next year. Has played SG Ball,Jersey Flegg and Premier League this year, and has excelled in all three.

Apparently he is the heaviest player at the club, even more than Puletua and Clinton. Deadset wrecking ball.

Breaks tackles at will, seems to score a try every game, breaks the line, has a awesome offload and puts on huge hits in defence.

Has so much potential, can easily be one of the greatest front rowers Penrith has ever had.

I'm sure he will learn alot from having Petero at the club also, he and Tim Grant.

Whoever signed him from NZ last year to Penrith, Thank you.

Yeah they are playing Australia (u/20's) before the test. Though now there is a both a u/18 team (schoolboys) and a u/20 team to align with the NYC comp. Well that what I thought

Aussie will have a gun side - jennings, falou, lawrence, pearce, sammut

Theres no way Perret is even in the picture for the test team, nor Nightingale!

is that your opinion or do you have some inside info?

Perret will go very close imo. He is the only NZ player in the NRL that holds down a first grade fullback role.
