Well done Tonga. Adam Blair f**k UP ok dikhead, just f**k up. Kidwell - you're the reason those players left. You mucked around Taumalolo and you never picked Fusitua over DWZ. Thats what you get Kidwell.

Kidwell sux period. Not answering the "great" coach Kidwells calls. Kidwell? whos he?

After tonights game I'd pick Taumalolo over Kidwell ANY day. ANY day. Hell I'd pick the Tongan coach over Kidwell.

Taumalolo never showed any 'shithead' to me in this game. Adam Blair said those tokos would pay, pay what?
Taumololo himself said that he handled the situation poorly

Taumololo being a better player or whatever than Kidwell isn't any point at all in the whole scenario, the way he went about things was weak and unprofessional

Would you be happy if for example SJ and Mannering decided a day before round one next season they'd had a gutsful of Kearney so won't play for the Warriors but won't front up and say it ?

I would be happy. That actually happens believe it or not. It happens!

I told you guys last year Kidwell picked a crap team and some said 'he picked the best team available' lol. That cracked me up because I suggested NAS, Levi and Takairangi. Now look? hate to say I told you so but had he picked those guys ALONGSIDE Taumalolo and Fusitua, we would have had a better side than the one that drew against Scotland.

Hmm..I think it was you that said Kidwell picked "the best side available" and drew to Scotland. He's a crap coach and the reason the Tongans have left.

Whats next the Samoans? RTS, NAS etc... f**k Kidwell. Taumalolo kicked his ass and thats what we saw.

It doesnt matter if Taumalolo answered Kidwells calls, the fact is we lost JT.

Had JT said 'please great Kidwell can I play for Tonga' that would really make it better for you guys? Really? I wouldnt give a shit about that. Id give a shit about LOSING him. Think!

Basically everyones angry at JT for not saying 'please Kidwell can I leave...' Oh My God!! Ok you's cry about that whilst Ill worry about further future loss of players.

I still don't rate Takarangi as a top line centre, the first tackle of the game today showed exactly why, and yep I probably said that, and will always hold the view, that the players we took on tour last season were a better selected team than Tohu Harris at centre and Kenny Bromwich at hooker than we started with v australia in Kearneys last test, and just because those players you named are good a year later, doesn't mean that they were the best at the time, some might have been, some might not have been. SKD was poor, but prior to that had a pretty bloody good record in the Kiwis jumper regardless of club form. Luke a year earlier was ranked top 3 in the world in his position, again not surprising that he got picked

One thing that could never be questioned from Kidwell, was his ticker. If wearing the black jersey means that little to those blokes that they can toss it away because their mates didn't get picked, it says more about them than it does against Kidwell

I just can't fathom how anyone can argue that Taumololo handled the situation well, hell, he even admits himself that he didn't

It's spilt milk to me HOW he JT did it. I'd be stuck at 'you're leaving? why?'. I see a bigger issue here.

Why are so many Tongan players leaving the kiwis? What are the implications? If Tonga wins or goes to the final, Auckland rugby league could become the breeding ground for the Tongan team as so many tokos would be inspired.

There is a correct way of doing things, that shows respect to the country you're representing, and most importantly your teammates

1 or 2 days out from a squad naming, things are set in stone, tough phone calls have been made, game plans etc set and a lot of disruption to many different things is caused. Informing people 2 weeks earlier than that can change a hell of a lot of things and disrupt a variety of plans

Would Hayne have made the Aussie squad ? Probably not, but he came out months ago and declared himself for Fiji, the right way to handle it

As for the future loss of players, what I would want to see, is players representing the country that they are passionate about. Would I love to see Taumololo in our pack, absolutely, but it has to be questioned now, if he can toss NZ aside so easily, was the passion really there or was it just a nice chance to cash a cheque ?

You know my thoughts on Adam Blair and if he should even be there, and I agree his comments were ridiculous, but he is the type of bloke I want to see put the black jersey on, because you know how passionate he is about it

I would hope that they are leaving the Kiwis, because that's where their connection and passion is, nothing more and nothing less. Implications, International rugby league goes from strength to strength, which isn't a bad thing

Maybe the reason why is that for the 3 years inbetween the World Cup cycle, these blokes are happy to use the Kiwis to boost their bank balances

Over the years, the likes of Hunt, Papali'i, Tamou etc all chose to go another direction , and I'm cool with that because I'd rather have people that want to be in the black jersey wearing it

Tonie Carroll will always be an absolute disgrace to me, because he wiped his arse with the Kiwis jersey without hesitation

I thought Konrad had a good game. Some nice touches.
I thought RTS went well on attack, not so good on defence.
We got sucked into playing it in the forwards and our forwards got worn down.
We had firepower in the back line but we used it poorly.

For maximum clicheness.

It was a game of 2 halves...

Honestly, the loss of momentum that we got from those bs playthe ball decisions gave the Tongans a sniff, and thats all they needed. They were getting breaks in the game every few minutes which allowed them to last the 80mins. If we had even got 50-50 possession in the second half, the Tongans would have run out of steam in the last 15 like they did in the first half.

If we play this game again with a half decent ref (ie UK) we win handily. The ruck area throughout the game was untidy as f**k and i put that on Sutton not sorting that out right at the start.

Full credit for Tonga for executing every chance they had in the second half which allowed them multiple breathers which they needed to go the full 80. I dont think the Kiwis capitulated. The other team played well. The Tongans looked menacing with ball in hand. Murdoch-Masila is a weapon. And they did this without Jennings.
I think they had a perfect storm in the second half.
Also, Hurrell had a great game in setting up Fusitua twice.

Which leads to the next question. What position should the Fus be playing for the Warriors?
He scores tries in bunches on the wing with a good centre but then he ends up getting starved of the ball when the Warriors play him there, so they end up putting him at centre to see more of the ball , where he isnt as damaging.

One thing I have realised, is that what has gone on has rekindled interest in what the Kiwis are doing for me, I haven't been that into a test match for many, many years.

Part of that is involved with the circumstances pre tournament, but I also think the style of play has gotten me back on board too, it's exciting to watch whereas the past few years I had found the style extremely dull and never a great spectacle, that mid season match the middle of last year v Aussie was almost the most dull game I've ever watched
