Yes, my friend, how right you are. Also, during the lead up weeks to the semi finals, the Dragons were humiliated by Canberra and Parramatta respectively. Do you honestly beleive that either of those teams are better than the Dragons? This isn't an attempt to sugar-coat St. George, just simply pointing out that finals football is where the really good teams become far separated from the mediocre ones.

Also, on the subject of apalling decisons, wouldn't you say your team was on the end of a more than favourable refereeing display last week?

And two teams went out on the weekend after very mediocre performances.
But how can you say Manly are a better side than Newcastle? What have you got to back you up?
The stats say we were a better side in 2006, and we both lost comprehensively on the weekend.

We were on the end of some favourable decisions last week, just like some of the favourable decisions Manly had against us weeks earlier. That is rugby league, where sadly referees play a large part in many games in determining the outcome due to poor decisions.

once again, choking occurs when a team who is expected to win by everyone loses. like parramatta and the dragons last year.

the knights were the underdogs on Saturday and lost. we were poor in that game, but we didnt choke.

I think we need to define a 'choke'.
Being beaten by a better team is not choking.
Losing because of injuries is not choking.
Losing on a ref's call is not choking.
Having an off night in slippery conditions is not choking.

For my money choking is not playing your best out of fear brought on by the enormity of the occasion.

I don't think Newcastle choked anymore than St George did last year. They just had an off night and were beaten by a better side.

At the end of the day t-ba, Manly exited the finals series on the same weekend as the Knights did. What happened the week before doesn't really count anymore, neither does the 28-0 scoreline u were on the end of and neither does the 50-6 scoreline we were on the end of. Pure and simple - season is over

It's nice to say that, but the Snorks don't have stars that are supposed to be able to win the comp on their own, who don't get to say "I will go to [insert non NRL sport] if I don't get my way."

No one, especially their own fans, expected them to get anywhere by midway this year. Whereas Newcastle, well we even get articles by Jennifer Hawkins on how they will win. Not to mention Johns and Cheif pushing their agenda everytime their mugs are on the box. Newcastle played abysmally on Saturday. Manly were beaten, but didn't give up. Newcastle lost.

Hey, I'm not denying that. We were completely outplayed and outmuscled by a far better Broncos outfit. I'm just pointing out that this tool really hasn't got the right to call anyone chokers when his team finished the year with 10 straight losses, and has 40 years of choking history behind it.

How can it possibly be a choke when we were missing our two best forwards in Buderus and Simpson. In saying that, I'm not denying that we played terribly and Brisbane deserved their win.
