I can't help but feel sorry for them. They're trying so hard but are just terrible it's like early 2005 all over again except we don't have quality players to come back and save us.

gagai 6 tackles 4 missed
sione 12 tackles 5 missed
mamo 8 tackles 4 missed
cogger 13 tackles 4 missed
hodko 16 tackles 6 missed

If someone was a real masochist it would be interesting to map out where we made our attacking errors on the field.

I'm betting 90% of them were in our own half, majority in our own 30 and immediately puts pressure on our wings. Just strangled themselves really...

Pauli Pauli missed 5 tackles with 2 leading directly to tries. He was terrible tonight and is very unfit. Cogger just nowhere near ready for NRL. We are a long way off pace and will take another 3 years to be competitive.

Against the Eels last week

Sione - 10 Tackles 6 Missed
Mamo - 9 Tackles 3 Missed
Ross - 7 Tackles 3 Missed
Uate - 5 Takcles 4 Missed
Feeney - 20 Tackles - 6 Missed

It's easy to blame the outside backs.
However, it all starts in the middle.
Worst ruck defense in the comp.
Quick play the balls to the opposition up against a back peddling Knights defensive line...
If it's not quick the play balls it's Knights giving away ruck infringement penalties.

The only good thing out of tonights game was Mamo's try.
Best team try I seen from the Knights in years.
Beautiful ball playing from the fullback.

f**king lol on so many levels.

The first being you don't watch Knight's games.

The rest are not worth the time responding to.

Wow, he finally passed the ball instead of hogging it and cutting back on the inside like he does every other time. Definitely worth his disgustingly large contract.

Brown seems to have a plan for Pauli to play big minutes but he doesn't have the fitness when we are forced to defend a lot

I think Brown knows we probably won't win another game, so its worth leaving him out there to build fitness.

Its all about 2020.

Gagai pulled out of that chase. By all rights he should've got there before Pauli. Such a pea heart

Wow, that is just such a surprise....

My take on yesterday's game:

- I thought we went with them for about the first 20-25 minutes and our goal line defence wasn't too bad during that period, then the floodgates opened as our defence started getting fatigued and we were missing tackles, this also coincided with the Cowboys finding their way into the game
- We need to work out how to control the ruck, we're getting steamrolled up the middle, the Cowboys were making ridiculous metres of every set and were pinning us down near our goal line most of the game, this is also why our edge defence is so poor because everyone is pushing in to try and cover up our middle which is leaking metres. This is also causing fatigue and meaning we miss even more tackles, we have to get this sorted if we want to compete.
- Nathan Ross has been our best player over the last few weeks and maybe even our best this season so far. He is looking like a pretty solid first grader at the moment, shame he's now another victim of our decade long injury curse
- We actually did well to score 3 tries against the reigning premiers IMO, there will be lots of teams this year who won't score that many on them. The last 2 games we've played have showed that we can play good attacking football, the try that Mamo scored looked like it came straight off the training paddock and was a really clean backline move. If we continue to see this sort of stuff I'll be hopeful that there's a good team in there somewhere.
- On Mamo, even though he's got plenty of errors in his game I feel that he can be a good first grader one day, he just needs time and extended exposure at this level.
- Unfortunately I can't say the same for Lachlan Fitzgibbon, he hasn't shown me anything at all to suggest he's a first grader.

No doubt Gags played well in Origin 1. He was constantly coming in to take hitups, played on the wing well for what you would expect of a winger.

The cowboys game whilst disappointing was to be expected. Who prior to the game didn't expect that scoreline?

The positives for me though were still the ongoing signs of better commitment from the team. We were in the game the first 20 but our mistakes and silly penalties let us down handing great attacking position to the cowboys. You just can't do that against a team like the cowboys and the flood gates opening is just a direct result.

Pauli Pauli our worst player. Gave away two silly penalties for the flop, missed tackles that lead to tries. He is never going to play a lot of minutes with his frame and apparent laziness. Impact bench player at best, and we don't really have the squad to afford a bench spot to a 15 minute stint player.

You'd think Brown would give Pauli an off season at the club before sending him packing. He aint fit enough to keep up atm.

Pauli's gone from playing 35 minutes at most to immediately playing 80 every week. He's definitely very hit or miss but I think he's looked more dangerous than any of our other second rowers have this season. Got really good footwork for a guy of his size.

Agree. He was really good last week. Short memories I guess

yeah...I did think he was one of the best on ground versus the Eels on Monday night.

I really like the footwork he has for a big man...which begs the question, is he suited to being an 80 minute player or does he provide more benefit coming on as a bench impact player?

It will be interesting to see what impact the development of his endurance has on some of the skill sets that make him a dangerous player.
