This is for the Knights Opening Trial Game against "Newcastle Local League Sides" at Charlestown. I'm not sure what Newcastle Local League Sides means exactly. Is it the Newcastle Rep Side? or are they playing a nominated Newcastle Local League Club or an Intra Club where the main players play against the players that will be farmed off to the real NRL.

None of the above. They'll play against a few of the clubs from the Newcastle Rugby League competition. One quarter of the game for each club's first grade side.

Central Charlestown is first up, not sure who the other teams are.

all the local sides should be able to go hard for 20 minutes and 80 minutes of that will be a good workout for the Knights - although from memory in the same match last year Uate got 4 or 6 tries and made a few guys look silly.

A lesson from last years game might also be to wear 'protection'.

That's bizzare
Gives the guys a run in a game situation Ian, that beats run of the mill training against team mates. nSure the opposition wont be up to the Knights standard, but they will give it everything, that's what you want for your first run of the year.

Added to that, Smith said in todays conference that he expects to field a full strength squad, minus those injured (Kidley and Wes), so it should be a good indicator of how our team will look this year, and how De Gois is going to fit in

Yeah I'm not disputing that it's just the idea of changing opponants every 20 minutes.

Uate scored 4 or 5 from memory, dropped another 3, and little doogs (his centre partner in the game) dropped a couple as well.
