On the face of it that's a terrible result. Not only is it a smashing but the Dogs had not won a game so far this season, until now.
Be interested to hear from anyone who was at the game as to what happened.

That suggests that one side of our defence - or one particular player - leaked badly?

Very, very badly. Bad interior defence up against Tony Williams (with a rookie NYC half in there defending against him) and awful positioning from the winger on other occasions.

Wenty just looked flat for the most part. Cornish really needs to learn when to pull his punches. Gets far too over eager at the line and often ends up overplaying his hand - be it by putting his runners under undue pressure from late passes or kicking ahead early on the back of second phase play.

I haven't seen him play since he joined the Eels, but he has a tendency to not only push passes at the line, but when off his game his footwork at the line often tends to 'close the gap' for the runner (sort of an anti-Andrew Johns).

I thought Dargan handled himself well in the move up. He didn't star but I don't think he did too much wrong. It didn't help that we had Dargan/Schulte/Nick Walker trying to defend Williams.

He's no first grader but it's wrong to say he's crap in reserves. He just doesn't stand out because he doesn't have the running game to dominate reserve grade defences.
