Was he playing mostly prop?

He ran on as a prop replacing Vave, about 25 minutes into the game. In the second half he and Gower swapped so Rex was playing left edge and was replaced with about 20 minutes to go.

Personally I wouldn't have swapped Gower and Williams as both were playing very well in their respective roles on the field.
