Is chiefy pissed off that wenty got beaten or passed off that we’re not using it to develop kids out of our system ??

I’m just wondering if he’s one of these idiots that believe we should be fielding lower grade teams to win comps... ?

Staggs wake the fup. Is wentworthville a pathway step through to the nrl or not ?

Look, i don't give a stuff if we win a comp in reserve grad or not, nor do i agree with what's happened here in previous years when we filled wentworthville up with a heap of fringe first graders with f-all chance of making it.

What im looking for is a top bunch of half a dozen players who are pushing hard from the 20s through to reserves and are looking great for the NRL juts as Penrith are doing.

Wake up people because it's NOT HAPPENING ATM

FFS penrith is in the 7th year of their plan, gould started in May 2011. Our current one started in October 2013. FFS merkin stop and actually think about why a set-up may be producing more players. As has I've said to you in my last comment, player development takes time.

Edit *BA joined in 2013, not 2014*

You’re the one who carried on about the score to begin with ... than as you normally do, go off half cocked and blame the coach....

The best thing for you to do is read OAs post again because he pretty much schooled you.... learn and understand from it

Yea well, didn't the 20s go deep into the finals in 2014 under Holbrook?
The joint wasn't exactly broken was it ???

Wasn't the juniors situation addressed when Big face got here in 2011??? We had the awesome academy set up by Nolan and co??? Ricky wasn't here long enough to change anything either. So thats 7 years.

Weren't you one of the ones giving it to the academy as a failure? How can you then say this?

Like i said, the jnrs system wasn't broken when ba arrived as Holbrook took the 20s deep into the finals in 14. BA had plenty to work with then and a continuation of jnrs throughout the systems

Why does that mean the system isn't broken?

What other evidence do you have to support that claim?

No I was all aboard the Kearney and Academy express, the juniors were a disaster when Kearney got here and the first thing he tried to do was fix them. Someone closer to the set up might know more but it has been 7 years and on the whole so far you would have to say it hasn't been the success we were all hoping. But this next crop do look promising, Brown,Kaufusi,Mahoney,Faainga all look first grade talents in the least.

>picks 1 year where 20s went well
>bases entire opinion on the junior system from it

That, like many years previous we picked big bodied players that work well in age-restricted competitions because defences aren't drilled like they are in first grade.

Stop clutching at straws. What evidence do you have that the development situation is in great shape now.
You're just another excuse maker

Lol you're telling me to stop clutching at straws? You pointed out 1 grade in 1 year, you're more delusional than I could've ever imagined.

What excuses am I making? It's very obvious that junior development works better when there's a figurehead at a club for many years. As you pointed out the penrith system now has new players coming through each year and then as I pointed out that's because there's gould as a figurehead for 7 years. There was a plan in place for many years and they stuck to it. Same with our club under Brian Smith we had juniors coming through every year because there was a stable leader at the top for many years so a plan was put into place and was stuck with.

Look at our situation from say 2010-2016. We had a lack of stable leadership at head coach from 2007-2013 and as such junior development suffered because no coach, or head of football, could put their junior plan into place and execute it. The worst plan is much better than no plan or changing plan every 2nd pre-season.

It's no coincidence that our best juniors are coming through since we've had a long term coach and a long term junior recruiter alongside them.

Twal, Aloia, Matteson, Doolan, Dargan, Tanginoa and a few others were all spoken about as our best juniors in years as well.
There's no guarantees as we can see
