Why? Does he not have the ball skills?
Athletically he is awesome so I am hoping he develops.
French will play no NRL this year. We have Gennings wating for a wing injury. Parry too. Hoff is a sound backup at centre and FB. Seeya

To give our backup fullback Josh Hoffman some game time at the back. Bevan French will never play in the halves in first grade, so the fact he's playing there for Wenty shows he is well on the outer.
I assume its cos we have f**k all other halves options in reggies .... didnt we already have a hooker in there before we got injured?

From the reports I've read this year, French is too good for Canterbury Cup, but as we know, not sure where he fits in an NRL side though. There are a few teams that may be inclined to take a gamble on him before June 30, if we were to grant him a release. But if he continues to play in the halves for Wenty and develop there, we may not grant him such a release given the lack of depth in the halves, particularly if we're in the frame for finals footy...

True that we may not release him, but I can’t see him playing FG this year unless we are desperate for bodies.

No mate. Put a fork in him. He’s done. :white_check_mark:
Ok. Back on the other side of the fence now. Lol.
I said the same about Jennings and he went ok last night. Will it last? All I can say, is I hope so. Bev is a footy player mate. He wasnt the only player who was sh*t last year. I think he can rebound if he gets a chance. Id have liked to see him get that ball in the clear last night instead of Taka.

He’s a nice kid, but I have seen enough. No flip flopping by me. The day he ran 17m in that game was when he lost my support.

Bev scored 2 tries and set up 3 others, maybe more? Really warmed into the role as the game went on. Defence didn't seem to be an issue.

He is worth persisting with - he obviously has talent -; the question is where does he play?

Moses and Brown are our halves, and deservedly so.

He's hot going to displace the King at 1; Sivo and Ferguson are on fire.

He's not a better centre than Michael Jennings, and he provably does not make a better centre than Taikarangi, either.

He may be best off heading to greener pastures...

That means f**k all. I’d have liked to have seen junior Paulo in the clear there rather than taka

I was of a similar opinion at the time Gronky. The fact is though that he hadnt made those tough dummy half runs for weeks prior. Was it all his decision?

So form, fitness and confidence are irrelevant to you when forming opinions?

I was also at the last game at Parra Stadium where he scored 3 trys and absolutely killed it.
Form is temporary talent is forever.
Honestly could you imagine him as The Storms fullback? I really hope if he is lost to us he finds a club that will best suit his talent.

French is too small for the nrl period. He seems very tentative in his running, can't defend, and takes wrong options.
His time at Parramatta is done

Im not sure how many times he was rag dolled over the sideline last season but it was embarrassing.
