Maybe they are? Or would the preference been to have missed the top 4 in 2022 so we could give these guys more game time?
If they are maybe ready as you as say why did we run with a 15 man bench for the majority last couple of months???

Do you want to win a grand final? If do we have to improve as we got belted.
Let's call it for what it is. In the game for less then 10mins. Been a while since a grand final was over that quickly and side had no sniff off a fight back.

We also lost some real quality. Replacing Papali with Al Zachem isn't taking you anywhere. We need better.

Otherwise we slowly slide down ladder
We weren’t in the game because our defence was shit. Losing Papali’i won’t hurt our defence. In fact it’s likely to improve it.

Because the starters and two bench forwards (who were good enough to get poached by other clubs) were much better than anyone who might’ve gotten a bench spot with them.

I don't know whether they are ready now, need another preseason, or will never be ready... that's why I used the word MAYBE. I also don't know recall us using a 15 man bench, my recollection is that we had 17 players in the squad each week and although some had limited game time, I am not sure that would have changed much regardless of who was in the 17.

How many games did player 16 and 17 barely get more than 5 mins?? Quite a few, it may have been nice for Junior and Reg to have a few less mins on the field in the back end of the season. Because by the GF they looked spent.

Did JA and Makatoa help us make the top 4?

Anyhows I think playing 80 mins in NSW CUP is better then 8 in NRL.
See above - JA and Makatoa might not have 'helped' us in any significant way, however they didn't hinder us in making the top 4.

And I agree, for some players playing 80 mins in reggies is better than limited NRL game time.

A bit of a quandry for the coaching staff, because potentially giving Junior and Reg less time at the back end of the season means we finish outside the top 4, don't make the grand final and they get to enjoy the first Sunday in October on the beach in Bali and not at Homebush in the GF.

So the coach couldn’t rely on player 16 or 17 to do the job?? Makatoa’s extension was well thought out and yes Jake well the less said about Jake the better. Rodwell looked to be coming along well and then was banished and well look what happened to Nathan Brown…………. But yeah no other options I suppose you can’t help bad luck ☹️

Whatever job he was relying on 16 & 17 to do, they managed to do.
Don't forget we won 7 out of our last 10 regular season games to finish 4th and made the GF.

And when it mattered we were cannon fodder, actually we didn’t even fire a shot. You can only flog your playing group for so long.

But yeah we made a GF I suppose!! It’s an appearance that will probably set the club back half a decade but yeah woo hoo!!
