Interesting that Wenty have two halfbacks on the bench. I expect Matterson to spend some time in the forwards. Decent wraps on Madden.

I hate that Wenty are carrying two utilities on the bench, whether Matterson shifts into the pack or not. We have been getting hammered up the middle all year barring last week on the back of some outstanding efforts from Pauli and Moeroa (with Fa'aoso also contributing solidly) and much like first grade, the two guys on the bench that add nothing to the ruck are a fair reason for it.

Wenty desperately need a hooker that can play long minutes instead of the patch work jobs that Gorman and O'Malley are doing but since Issac De Gois seems to be a fixture in first grade I guess the best hope there is an early return for Kaysa Pritchard. Even then he would be massively short on match fitness.

So we drop a prop and keep the same undersized bench which has cost us the last two weeks??? Is BA on the turps or what????

I do however have a hotline to someone at the game so I can tell you the following.

The outside backs have swapped around. Toutai and Morgan are the centres with Goodall and Crooks on the wings.

Pauli and Tepai are playing on the edge with Ualesi pushing into the middle.

We have also taken back the lead with a try to Fabian Goodall. Unconverted though.

Wenty lead Newcastle 10-6.

Can we all chip in to pay for Fortys ticket and petrol next time. This is bush league. Lol.

If I was legally allowed I would live-stream every non-televised Parra/Wenty Holden Cup and NSW Cup game. You better believe I would do it for you merkins.

Meanwhile in the game Ben Crooks has nabbed a first half brace. Conversion nailed by Kelly.

Wenty extend their lead to 16-6.

Knights strike first in the second half with a try to Feeney. It is converted and the margin narrows to four points. Grindy second stanza apparently.

Newcastle trail Wenty 12-16.

Kelly combines with Matterson to get the starting 5/8, now backrower over.

Conversion is good.

Wenty lead 22-12.

Perfume Mata'utia scores for the Knights. Conversion bounces out of the uprights.

Newcastle quickly go back-to-back though and lock the game up with a try to Carlos Tuimavave under the posts.

22-all with ~8min to play.
